Signed Today
According to a report from The Media Line a deal with Iran will be signed by tonight as also seen in an interview on Fox Business:
President Trump told Fox News reporter Maria Bartiromo that “a deal with Iran will be signed tonight,” even as uncertainty remained over the timing and prospects of renewed talks. He also said earlier that a US delegation led by Vice President JD Vance had departed for Pakistan ahead of planned discussions. It was not immediately clear when the discussion with Bartiromo took place.
Pakistan, whose is leading negotiations in Islamabad is on record as wanting Israel to be destroyed as seen in an article from The Jerusalem Post:
Israel is “evil and a curse for humanity,” Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said in a since-deleted Thursday post to X/Twitter, adding that he hopes its founders will “burn in hell.”
His remarks come as Islamabad tries to position itself as a diplomatic player in efforts to contain the widening regional war.
The only reason I think Trump is letting them do this is because they are part of his “Board of Peace” which is supposed to lead Gaza after Hamas is defeated. It still makes no sense to me, but the next round of talks are being pursued:
Pakistani sources told the New York Post that Tehran was “willing for a second round,” while noting that “no decision has been taken about” it, signaling possible openness without a confirmed commitment. Pakistan said Monday that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met separately in Islamabad with the Iranian ambassador and the acting US ambassador to discuss arrangements, AP reported.
This is happening while an internal struggle in Iran rages, or so we’re led to believe:
However, Iranian officials have publicly rejected participation, pointing to the ongoing US naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. According to Iran’s hard-line Tasnim news agency, which is affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Tehran has not “altered its decision to abstain” from the talks.
The obstacle is control of the Straits of Hormuz:
Tasnim reported that the blockade remains an “obstacle” and said US communications to Iran “contain further excessive demands that cloud the prospects for the upcoming talks.”
The report also said Iran “remains fully prepared for military confrontation and to once again punish the US.”
All this points to Iran stalling on one hand while refusing to bend on one of the biggest sticking points in the talks. The article notes this as well:
The conflicting signals highlighted uncertainty around whether negotiations would proceed despite continued diplomatic contacts and public statements from both sides.
They Won’t Change
As we keep hearing more and more about a peace deal with Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah, will any truce actually work long term? I know my feelings are pretty clear and I haven’t seen anything to lead me to believe that radical Muslims will agree to peace with anyone other than other radical Muslims. If you think it’s just my opinion, all you have to do is listen to them and research their history of making deals. And I’m not the only person to feel this way. We’re told in an article from i24new.tv that a former Mossad director doesn’t trust Iran to be peaceful for any length of time:
Former Mossad Director Yossi Cohen issued a stark warning against diplomatic complacency during a Remembrance Day ceremony on Monday evening, asserting that Israel’s military successes must not lead to a false sense of security regarding the Iranian threat. Speaking at the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem, Cohen addressed an audience of bereaved families, international diplomats, and Diaspora Jewish leaders. His remarks focused on the long-term implications of recent IDF operations.
Cohen mentioned that the Israel Defense Force (IDF) has done a lot to defeat the terrorists:
While Cohen praised the "military and intelligence might" displayed by the IDF and the intelligence community during the two recent operations in Iran, he cautioned that the strategic battle is far from over.
He then said why Israel should be wary of any peace deal:
"We must not deceive ourselves: the Iranians will continue to lie, and we must not trust them or rest on our laurels," Cohen stated. "No agreement and no ceasefire will change their fundamental ambitions. Therefore, despite the significant achievements of the war, our campaign for the State of Israel has not yet ended. We will still be required to show sacrifice, determination, and boundless Zionism."
As I continue to study Bible prophecy I can see how all this sets up the war of Gog and Magog seen in Ezekiel 38 where Iran/Persia enlists Russia and Turkey among others as what is left of Iran will be too weak to take on the Israeli military alone. However, if the current regime is ended and a more favorable one replaces it, say like one led by Iran’s Crown Prince, Rez Pahlavi this would be great for the Iranian people and a wonderful turn of events for religious freedom that is the exact opposite of creating the environment for that future war. If you expect me to unwind that for, you move along. Somehow God sees how it will play out. Regardless, the current regime has no intention of leaving power and no plans to not have nuclear weapons. Hopefully Trump and the US will not give them that option.
