Israel At War – Day 95

Tough Questions Need Answers

A Rare Apology

In what is a rare occurrence, a media outlet apologized for believing Hamas misinformation as we read in this report from i24news.tv:

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has issued an apology for airing unverified claims made by Hamas regarding alleged "extrajudicial executions" of Gazan civilians by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).

In a public statement, the BBC admitted that insufficient efforts were made to verify the accuracy of Hamas' claims.

The channel had relayed information sourced from an Agence France-Presse (AFP) dispatch, which asserted that Hamas had gathered evidence indicating that 137 Palestinians were purportedly executed by the IDF since the commencement of the Israeli offensive in Gaza. However, the AFP dispatch had also indicated its inability to independently verify these allegations.

An apology is a good thing, but as we continue to see, the BBC still tried to make themselves look good anyway and the IDF still look bad:

Acknowledging their mistake, the BBC stated, "In our broadcast, we reported Hamas' accusation against the IDF for carrying out extrajudicial killings in Gaza. While we presented the IDF's response, emphasizing Hamas' reputation for falsehoods and the IDF's lack of awareness regarding the incident, we failed to adequately pursue evidence to support or refute the relayed allegations. We apologize for this oversight."

The BBC has done this before:

This recent apology follows previous instances where the BBC faced criticism for allegedly biased reporting against Israel and disseminating unverified information from Hamas. In a similar incident last November, the BBC retracted a false report claiming that IDF soldiers had aimed their weapons at medical staff at Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza.

To be fair, just about every media outlet reported in the Al-Shifa hospital false information without first checking with other sources. As people on X advised, how about being more cautious in the first place before running a story with only information from a terrorist organization that lies to make themselves look good.

Who Is Harming Who?

In his tour of the Middle East, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Israeli leaders and he continues to play a familiar tune while there. In an article from The Times Of Israel we see why I said that:

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday that Israel must stop causing additional harm to civilians in Gaza, the State Department said.

“The secretary reaffirmed our support for Israel’s right to prevent the terrorist attacks of October 7 from being repeated and stressed the importance of avoiding further civilian harm and protecting civilian infrastructure in Gaza,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a statement after Blinken met Netanyahu in Tel Aviv.

Blinken also stressed that humanitarian aid get to the Gazans and also pushed the two-state solution:

At the press conference, Blinken said that normalization with more Arab states “only comes from a regional approach that includes a pathway to a Palestinian state.”

“This crisis has clarified,” he continued. “You can’t have one without the other.”

Bolstering the Biden administration’s talk of a Palestinian state, according to an unsourced Channel 12 report, Washington is floating the Arab Peace Initiative that Saudi Arabia sponsored more than 20 years ago as a possible framework to end the war against Hamas in Gaza.

The 2002 initiative offers Israel normalized ties with the entire Arab world once it reaches a two-state solution to its conflict with the Palestinians. Riyadh had set that agreement aside as it pursued separate normalization talks with Israel, brokered by the US, before Hamas’s October 7 attacks. The Saudis are widely thought to be readying for the possibility of normalizing relations with Israel without first securing the establishment of a Palestinian state.

The report said the Biden administration is arguing that such an agreement would be in the interest of the US, Israel and regional countries.

Actually, creating a Palestinian state has been tried over and over again, but as I’ve said before, Israel is through with trusting it will ever work and they said that at the start of the war. And the words and actions from the Palestinians and terrorists back up why as they won’t be happy with just that. They want all of Israel for their state. It baffles me why this is never mentioned in how a solution will work and it is so clear.

Pushing The Only People Who Are Willing To Listen

It should be frustrating to the leadership in Israel that over and over again, they are the ones being accused of harming civilians and are the only ones keeping help from getting to civilians. And Israel is the only one that is keeping peace from happening. What demands are being made of the Palestinians? Are they held to account for the people they killed and are they facing criticism for blocking Gazans from leaving war zones. Are they being told to stop taking all the aid and threatening to shoot any civilians trying to take it as seen in a video from the IDF shown in a video posted on X and reported on by i24news.tv? Why are there no demands for these other nations wanting the Palestinians to have a land of their own to provide a place even temporarily for them to live or even land to live on? Why don’t these nations ask these Palestinians why only Israel is the place where they can live? Like the elephant in the room, the answer is, and they have said it publicly time and time again, they want all of Israel, not just part. And they want Jerusalem to be their capitol as well as all Jews exterminated. Will these demands be challenged at all? Will Palestinians and their leaders be willing to give up anything like say stop indoctrinating their children generation after generation and acknowledging that Israel is a nation once and for all? If peace in the Middle East is truly a goal by say even the United States, all of my stated concerns need to be addressed. The Bible tells us why there is hatred by all the Arab world and it even tells us how it can be ended. It will end even temporarily when Palestinians and all Arabs are willing to leave Israel alone, but it will end personally when they let Jesus into their lives. Paul is a good example of this. He too was a Middle Eastern terrorist, but God got ahold of him and all that hatred left. When praying for the peace of Jerusalem, add these things to your prayer list.
