Pressure To Stop The War Increases

Not Weeks, Months

Once again, the United States is pushing Israel to end the war in weeks. And once again, Israel says months as we read in this article from The Times Of Israel:

The Biden administration wants the IDF to wrap up the current phase of “high intensity” fighting in Gaza within weeks, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told Israeli leaders during meetings today in Tel Aviv, an Israeli official tells The Times of Israel.

A second Israeli official says the US has pushed for the current phase to wrap up by the end of 2023.

There’s an understanding that the IDF will remain active in Gaza well beyond the end of the current phase, but Sullivan made clear that the US expects a “major roll back” in the intensity of the fighting within weeks, the Israeli official says, confirming reporting in the Walla news site.

Later in the article Israel Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu give us their side of this:

Earlier in the day, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant told Sullivan in public remarks before their meeting that the IDF’s war against Hamas in Gaza will take “more than several months.” Gallant did not speak of different stages in the war when he made his comments.

The New York Times also reported that the US is pushing for Israel to end large-scale fighting by the end of the year.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office responded to the report saying that the premier “made it clear that Israel will continue the war until we complete all of its goals.”

All of this back and forth comments from the United States is probably causing a lot of head shaking internally within the Israeli War Cabinet, but it also shows them there is turmoil inside of the United States leadership and eventually, they can’t trust them.

Tunnels And Weapons Discovered

The Israel Defense Force (IDF) concluded a military offensive in a town inside of Israel called Jenin and what they found is startling as we read in this report from The Times Of Israel:

The military wrapped up a counter-terrorism operation in Jenin Thursday, some 60 hours after launching a major raid in the northern West Bank city and adjacent refugee camp.

According to the IDF, troops scanned hundreds of buildings, arrested 60 wanted Palestinians, and seized 50 weapons and hundreds of explosive devices during the 60-hour incursion that began late Monday.

The IDF said the troops also found more than 10 tunnel shafts, seven labs used to manufacture explosive devices, and five war rooms used by local terror operatives to monitor IDF operations. Some of the sites were blown up by the troops.

This city is not in Gaza. It’s inside the West Bank and they found tunnels? Now you see why I keep saying that the IDF needs to demilitarize the West Bank as well the Gaza Strip and to the United States and the Arab world, this will bring about cries of oppressing Palestinians and not being right. However, tell that to the Jews living there that have to deal with this day in and day out. If terrorism is to be rooted out and eliminated once and for all, the West Bank needs to be cleaned up.

Why The Incessant Calls For A Truce?

I have noticed an uptick in calls for Israel to stop the total obliteration of Hamas and here is yet another one as we see in this article from The Times Of Israel:

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says the US has a “historic responsibility” to ensure a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, warning of the “negative regional and global consequences” of the conflict.

The Turkish leader spoke on the phone with US President Joe Biden today in their first talks since October 7, when Palestinian terror group Hamas’s unprecedented attack on Israel sparked the war, now in its third month.

“President Erdogan stated that the intensification and prolongation of Israeli attacks could have negative regional and global consequences,” the Turkish Presidency said in a statement after the phone call.

“Withdrawal of the United States’ unconditional support for Israel can guarantee a rapid ceasefire,” the statement added.

Here we are in our third month of this war and now Erdogan decides to press the United States to withdraw their support from Israel to stop the war. Folks, there is a reason and it is clear. Hamas is getting destroyed and these other countries know that Israel is not stopping with Hamas and will attack Hezbollah next and maybe just take out the nuclear capacity of Iran. None of these are good for terrorists and the countries that either allow them or even support them. And all of them want Israel destroyed and have said that on many occasions. Remember that every time you read reports like this.

The First Of Many?

Yesterday Hamas aired a video stating that they will attack any country that supports Israel, chiefly America, and the UK. However we now hear that the attacks may be starting as see in this report from The Times Of Israel:

Danish police arrested at least four suspected Hamas operatives who were planning to carry out a terror attack on Jewish or Israeli targets, Jerusalem said Thursday, as authorities in Denmark said they would up security at Jewish sites.

The arrests, which were carried out in coordinated actions across Denmark and the Netherlands, “thwarted a terror attack plot that aimed to kill innocent civilians in Europe,” according to a joint statement from the Mossad spy agency and the Shin Bet security service released by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office.

Danish police announced the arrests of four suspects — three in Denmark and one in the Netherlands — while the PMO statement cited seven arrests. The reason for the discrepancy was not immediately clear.

Israel, for its part is warning the world that Hamas isn’t content to fight only in Israel:

Jerusalem accused the Hamas terror group of increasingly seeking to sow terror across the continent.

“In recent years, and more since the murderous onslaught on October 7, Hamas has been striving to expand its operational capabilities around the world and especially in Europe to realize its ambitions of targeting Israelis, Jews and Westerners at any cost,” the Israeli intelligence statement said.

The questions is who will Hamas attack next. We know they are going to, especially if they lose in Israel.

It’s Time To Fully Support Israel

Yes, they aren’t perfect, in fact Israel is a very secular and liberal nation by and large, but what I’m suggesting we do can’t be outweighed by how fallen the Jewish people are. In fact, it is in part because they are far from accepting their Messiah that I am wanting us to go all in with out support of them. My reasoning even goes beyond the promised blessings offered for those who bless and not curse Israel. It goes beyond simply taking sides against terrorism. It goes straight to loving what God loves and hating what He hates. Israel has always been the apple of His eye and He will never stop loving them no matter how wayward they become. The heartbeat of God is that no one should perish and He shows that in how He always draws the Jews back to Him. Israel is a blueprint of that love for all who are lost in their sins as they read in His Book the Bible. In it are hundreds of promises to protect and support Israel that go all the way into eternity. If He allows Israel to be destroyed, then what other promise will He break? The stakes are extremely high now and our prayers and allegiance needs to be for Israel as they enter into a most critical time in this war. Pray for the peace if Jerusalem. Doing so is to have the heart of God.
