Israel At War Day 632
Trump Flying High
Here We Go Again
US President Donald Trump is sounding like he can bring peace to anywhere he wants after getting a ceasefire with Israel and Iran. But one report in the World Israel News says that Israel will agree to a two-state solution to end the war, something I highly doubt that Netanyahu will rubber stamp or even discuss:
Since the US weekend attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, Israeli Prime Minister and US President Donald Trump reportedly began planning for an expansion of the Abraham Accords and a two-state solution, provided that the Palestinian Authority enacts reforms, according to Israel Hayom.
According to the report the assault on Iran provided the atmosphere for plans:
Two sources reported that as Israel and the United States were “euphoric” over the success of the campaign using B-2 bombers to destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities, Trump, Netanyahu, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer participated in a four-way phone call to celebrate the achievement of military goals and discuss postwar plans for the Middle East.
The Israel Hayom report, based on the account of a source familiar with the matter, detailed the consensus reportedly reached by Netanyahu and Trump, which includes an end to the war in Gaza; the territory would be ruled by a coalition of Arab countries, including the United Arab Emirates and Egypt; the exile of Hamas from the Gaza Strip; and the release of the remaining hostages. In addition, some countries would accept Gaza civilians who wish to leave.
The Abraham Accords is thought to also provide an environment for the Israeli compromise:
The agreement also proposed an expansion of the Abraham Accords to include Syria, Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries that would normalize relations with Israel.
Anonymous sources which I tend to take with a grain of salt once again provide the details:
Shockingly, Israel would agree to a two-state solution with a “reformed” Palestinian Authority.
The United States would recognize limited Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.
Two diplomatic sources reported that Trump put substantial pressure on Netanyahu to end the war in Gaza and that this pressure existed even before Israel launched missiles against Iran, commencing Operation Rising Lion.
After what the US did to obliterate Iran’s nuclear program, Trump has more leverage on Israel:
In addition, the sources said the reason for Trump’s anger and use of expletives when expressing frustration at Israel over its preparation to retaliate against Iran’s missile attack was his fear that Israel would not only fail to comply with the Iran ceasefire but that Netanyahu might back out of the general peace framework they had agreed upon.
The sources think that Netanyahu’s support for a deal was why Trump publicly asked that the charges against the PM be lessoned and then go away:
Netanyahu’s renewed commitment to the joint proposal may have inspired Trump’s unprecedented social media post Thursday morning, insisting that the prime minister be exempt from standing trial on accusations of corruption.
He’ll Cure Cancer Next
In an article on Trump from The Jerusalem Post we hear from Trump himself who sounds like a peacemaking machine:
US President Donald Trump said on Friday he believes it is possible that a ceasefire in the Gaza conflict will be reached by next week.
Some think it could be mere days, but I tend to think Hamas will reject it on some grounds:
Trump, at an Oval Office event celebrating a Congo-Rwanda accord, told reporters that he believes a ceasefire is close. He said he had just been talking to some of the people involved in trying to reach a ceasefire for the Israel-Hamas War.
As we already know, Hamas is why we are even talking about this:
Some 50 hostages remain in captivity after being abducted by Hamas on October 7, 2023. While the terror group originally abducted some 250 people, many were released under previous ceasefire agreements, and some were rescued by the IDF.
The terrorists in the Gaza Strip once again put out information that cannot be trusted in any form or fashion:
Hamas-run Palestinian health authorities have claimed that the war has killed tens of thousands of Gazans and decimated much of the enclave.
As mentioned previously, the results of the Iranian bombings are making Trump seem like a master diplomat and perhaps making him feel like it in his own thinking:
Trump's announcement comes after a ceasefire agreement ended a 12-day war between Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which backs the terror groups Israel has warred against for the past two years, namely Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.
Trump them said that North Korea could come to the bargaining table to end the decades long dispute with South Korea:
Trump also said on Friday that he will "get the conflict solved with North Korea."
"I've had a good relationship with Kim Jong Un and get along with him, really great," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. "So we'll see what happens."
"Somebody's saying there's a potential conflict, I think we'll work it out," Trump added. "If there is, it wouldn't involve us."
Perhaps Trump will tackle a cure for cancer next. You never know.
