Israel At War Day 662
Hard Truths
Not Enough Force
As many see the end to the war against Hamas in view, some think is could come sooner as we read in an article from World Israel News:
As diplomatic efforts to secure the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas reach a standstill, former senior Shin Bet official Yossi Amrusi is calling for a dramatic overhaul of Israel’s approach.
He then tells us what he thinks should be done and he doesn’t pull punches starting with ending any hostage talks:
In a recent interview with Maariv, Amrusi sharply criticized the government’s current strategy and laid out a two-pronged plan he believes is the only viable path to bringing the hostages home.
“Israel must stop signaling that it’s willing to keep playing this same game,” said Amrusi, warning that continued negotiation under the current terms only serves Hamas’s interests.
“Dragging out the talks works for them. They know that every passing day brings more international pressure on Israel—whether it’s the false narrative of starvation, political shifts abroad, or growing domestic discontent.”
Amrusi then points out what I’ve been screaming about all along:
Amrusi also questioned the influence and effectiveness of the Qatari mediators, suggesting they may lack real access to Hamas’s decision-makers.
And he thinks that the hostages might not be held by Hamas at all which makes the talks a waste of time:
“It’s unclear whether anyone in Gaza truly controls the hostage situation,” he said. “Some of the hostages may not even be in the hands of Hamas anymore.”
Knowing all this, Amrusi then says what will work:
For Amrusi, any serious attempt to free the hostages must be based on force, not hope.
And he doesn’t think that Israel isn’t doing it because of military reasons:
“Hamas will only release the hostages if they are compelled to. But we’re not applying the necessary pressure. Our military options are limited, and we’re propping Hamas up by continuing to allow humanitarian aid—fuel, supplies, even money—into Gaza.”
He accused the Israeli government of failing to act decisively, citing political hesitation and fear of international backlash.
Amrusi noted the things they should be doing:
“We’re not establishing humanitarian zones, we’re not opening immigration channels for Gazans who want out. We don’t know how to win.”
Amrusi outlined a dual strategy: Israel must first end its current negotiating posture and instead exert both military and psychological pressure on Hamas.
“Only a parallel effort—tightening the noose on the battlefield while showing we’re prepared to walk away from the table—has any chance of success,” he concluded. “This is the only way the hostages will come home.”
Good News
Another poster child for the Gaza starvation claims actually got taken out of Gaza to get help in Israel as we see in a report from The Jerusalem Post:
The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) revealed that a Gazan child with a genetic disorder, whose photo went viral over claims of starvation, had been evacuated from the Gaza Strip in June and is receiving care in Italy.
Israel actually rescued him and he’s getting the help he needs:
Five-year-old Osama al-Rakab, along with his mother and brother, were evacuated through the Ramon airport on June 12, COGAT revealed.
GOGAT rightfully corrects the narrative so many are repeating ad nauseum:
“Tragic images rightfully stir strong emotions, but when they’re misused to fuel hatred and lies, they do more harm than good,” COGAT wrote in a statement.
“Don’t let compassion be exploited for propaganda. Check the facts before parroting blame.”
The Post did ask about the child I reported on yesterday:
The Jerusalem Post reached out to COGAT regarding the condition of three-year-old Mohammed, who was featured in a CNN article as a victim of starvation, despite having a genetic disorder as well.
COGAT did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
There may need to be another call between Trump and Netanyahu as Trump is falling for the false stories like the ones of Mohammed and al-Rakab:
US President Donald Trump on Monday stated he disagreed with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying, "that there is no hunger in Gaza because they look very hungry."
Netanyahu did respond, though:
Netanyahu claimed that the UN is "creating an excuse and a lie about Israel," by saying that Israel is not allowing humanitarian aid to enter the enclave.
"We are allowing [aid], there are secured routes, there always have been. But today it is official, there will be no more excuses," Netanyahu said on Sunday.
After seeing these strategies play out since October 7th of 2023 I can sniff out the Hamas lies rather quickly. But many others are falling for it over and over again. I pray that reports like mine will shine the light on these dark falsities and pressure will be put on Hamas and not Israel to fix the humanitarian issues. If not, more children and families will suffer needlessly simply because it helps these terrorists goals. Remember this account of Hamas leaders seen in a report last year:
A report in The Wall Street Journal cites messages it says have been sent by Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar throughout the war expressing the necessity of civilian bloodshed. The report says the messages have been sent to Hamas compatriots as well as mediators and shared with the WSJ by a variety of people. One such message, said to be sent to Hamas leaders in Doha, says mass civilian losses, similar to those seen in the Algerian War of Independence, “are necessary sacrifices.”
These despicable examples of humans actually want these children to starve and die. Remember that when someone tries to make Israel the genocidal ones. And pray the truth will get out.
