Three Leaders. One Antichrist. Big Problem.

Many Moving Pieces

When Bible prophecy alludes to terms like a one world government, a one world religion, and a single man to rule the globe speculation can run amok. Like an elaborate chess game the various pieces have to move into place for all of those things to happen. Fortunately for us the rush to a new world order isn’t some hush, hush plot where men and women gather in a secluded area of the world to decide who will be the leaders of even countries with free elections. We envision a dimly lit board room with lush seats circled around an ornate black table and high tech flatscreens so the presentations can be made for each continent. All the usual areas of concentration are brought up as everyone in attendance looks on and then the various decisions are made. Security is high as are the expectations. And once the hidden agenda is set, leaders leave sworn to secrecy and they go back to their seemingly mundane lives with their lips sealed. Well, that was the way things went in the past, or so we believed. Now the chess game is out in the open for all the nations to see. Leaders from smaller parts of the world even vie for spots in the process and wear their participation openly as a prized piece of art. They meet annually and tell anyone wanting to know their elaborate plans. And they call themselves the World Economic Forum (WEF) and they just finished meeting for 2025. But my point isn’t the shift from clandestineness to candidness. My point is how will three current nations bow the knee to this grand plan.

Not On My Watch

Three world leaders are staunchly pushing back on giving up their nationalities, a key concession for a one world government. There may be others, but these men have publicly stated that while they may participate to a point, they aren’t willing to cease to exist for the so-called good of the cause of dealing with issues like living in peace, climate change, and the fight for social and economic justice. Who are they? C’mon man, you know. President Donald Trump, President Vladmir Putin, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. They are the current heads of America, Russia, and Israel and all of them, at one time or another have thumbed their collective noses at the WEF letting them know in no uncertain terms that they want to make the world a better place however they won’t sacrifice their national sovereignty to do it. The United States will still exist and will do what is best for themselves first. The same can be said for Russia and Israel with the latter facing extermination on an almost daily basis now. So you see if the prophesied Antichrist wants to take over he will have to subdue all of them somehow. And wouldn’t you know it, there is a way it can happen, a highly plausible way for each one and actually the Bible details those ways for each of them.

Russia Will Weaken

In the ancient book of the Bible called Ezekiel we read of a war called the war of Gog and Magog. In chapter 38 it tells us about a nation north of Israel who will come down to attack Israel. We aren’t given an exact timeline, but we are given key details about this invasion:

God’s Message came to me: “Son of man, confront Gog from the country of Magog, head of Meshech and Tubal. Prophesy against him. Say, ‘God, the Master, says: Be warned, Gog. I am against you, head of Meshech and Tubal. I’m going to turn you around, put hooks in your jaws, and drag you off with your whole army, your horses and riders in full armor—all those shields and bucklers and swords—fighting men armed to the teeth! Persia and Cush and Put will be in the ranks, also well-armed, as will Gomer and its army and Beth-togarmah out of the north with its army. Many nations will be with you!

7-9 “‘Get ready to fight, you and the whole company that’s been called out. Take charge and wait for orders. After a long time, you’ll be given your orders. In the distant future you’ll arrive at a country that has recovered from a devastating war. People from many nations will be gathered there on the mountains of Israel, for a long time now a wasteland. These people have been brought back from many countries and now live safe and secure. You’ll rise like a thunderstorm and roll in like clouds and cover the land, you and the massed troops with you. (Ezekiel 38:1-9, TMG)

There is debate on who these nations are in modern day, but there are good reasons to point to Russia being the main player. In terms of military status, they fit the bill. According to a report from globalfirepower.com Russia is second only to the United States in firepower. But somehow, they and the other nations listed, two of which are also in the top 20 listed will be completely destroyed.

God Intervenes

The Lord God says: “You are the one I spoke of long ago through the prophets of Israel, saying that after many years had passed, I would bring you against my people. 18 But when you come to destroy the land of Israel, my fury will rise! 19 For in my jealousy and blazing wrath, I promise a mighty shaking in the land of Israel on that day. 20 All living things shall quake in terror at my presence; mountains shall be thrown down; cliffs shall tumble; walls shall crumble to the earth. 21 I will summon every kind of terror against you,” says the Lord God, “and you will fight against yourselves in mortal combat! 22 I will fight you with sword, disease, torrential floods, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone! 23 Thus will I show my greatness and bring honor upon my name, and all the nations of the world will hear what I have done and know that I am God! (Ezekiel 38:17-23, TLB)

Israel will only be seen as untouchable after this and Russia will be devastated. Some think this conflict will happen just before the Tribulation or shortly into it. My bet is on the former and not the latter, but regardless the Antichrist will not have to conquer Russia to rise to power after this. In fact, he could be a savior to them by helping them to recover and protecting them from nations who would love to do nothing more than exact revenge on them for decades and even centuries of evil foisted on them by the great bear. So that could be the way Putin or whomever is subdued.

Israel Makes A Deal

Bible prophecy aficionados know that the Tribulation doesn’t start with the Rapture of the Church but with a covenant or deal brokered by the Antichrist and with Israel as see in Daniel 9:27:

And he shall enter into a strong and firm covenant with the many for one week [seven years]. And in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and offering to cease [for the remaining three and one-half years]; and upon the wing or pinnacle of abominations [shall come] one who makes desolate, until the full determined end is poured out on the desolator. Dan 9:27, AMPC)

For some time Bible prophecy scholars told us that Israel signs a peace deal with the man of sin so they can build the third temple and to protect them from his march to world domination. But it very well could be that after winning the Psalm 83 war and after the massive supernatural intervention by God to end the war of Gog and Magog, the Antichrist may not want to deal with them until later when he’s consolidated his power and has his hands on the military might from taking over Russia and Europe and maybe even America and Britain. In any event Israel will be humbled three and a half years into the Tribulation ending any hope of them being the Middle East superpower any longer. So now two of the three aforementioned players are dealt with. What of the current king of the hill, the United States?

Strangely Absent

I could talk for some time about why the United States isn’t a dominant superpower heading into the Tribulation, but rather than it being just one thing, it could be a series of events that weaken America. But if I wanted to single out one thing that could take down the single biggest obstacle to the one world government it would be that she is weak from the Rapture happening. Actually the Rapture of the church will bring instant chaos to all the planet although for a nation that prides itself for being a Christian nation it could really knock out America. Yes, I know that the moniker of being a nation full of believers can cause some listening to bristle, but even carnal Christians will be taken in the Rapture. Your mileage may vary on that one and I’m not going to spend time debating that point or many others. But you can’t dispute that in the twinkling of an eye, world leaders in all of the seven mountains of influence will disappear leaving a leadership gap that can’t be replenished easily if at all. And every plane with a Christians in the cockpit, or in air traffic controller positions will be gone as well leading to planes literally colliding or falling out the sky. Take into account the vast amount of workers in key positions being snatched away and the massive car crashes caused by missing drivers and you have a recipe for disaster for what many believe is the greatest nation in human history. It will effectively weaken the last of our three nations currently standing in the way of the one world government taking over. And the Bible predicts all of these events and did so over two thousand years ago.

What Can I Do About It?

Really, preparing for all of this is much simpler than plunking down thousands of dollars for a solar generator or stocking up on disaster rations. Or you can be like the millionaires and billionaires of the world and build your own little city underground which many have done or are currently doing. For the vast majority of us those options are not viable and so we may need a better plan. You can hope that fate will grant us an escape path or we can look to the God who made the universe to be our source of protection, provision, and peace. Speaking of prophecy, the Bible that predicts the future for America, Russia, and Israel also tells us about our future:

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. (Jer 29:11, AMPC)

This is just one of hundreds of Bible promises that encapsulates how God can and will help us when catastrophes come hurtling at us. And there are actual examples of how He does it in the pages of Scripture. Men and women who faced insurmountable odds were miraculously delivered from hardships or were delivered through them as the prophet Jeremiah was experiencing when he penned this famous verse. Yes, it is true that Christians aren’t appointed to wrath and yes, the Rapture will take us away from the horrendous events of the Tribulation, but I also want to encourage us to work while it is day for the night comes when no man can work. Rather than battening down the hatches and weathering the coming storms that are prophesied we are to be the end time warriors actively and passionately resisting the spirit of Antichrist that is in the world right now. Taking full advantage of Holy Spirit powerfully living in us and allowing Him to work through us we can and will push back on the darkness all around us and shine a light for those who God wants to rescue from that very darkness in them. As the hymn I often quote, the cry is onward Christian soldiers marching as to war, with the cross of Jesus
going on before! We are to be the church triumphant so let us live like it.
