Israel At War – Day 361
Fulfilling Prophecies
We Knew This Was Coming
As anyone who is paying attention, Iran launched over 200 missiles at Israel as we read in a report from The Jerusalem Post:
Some 180 ballistic missiles were launched onto Israel on Tuesday night by Iran, The Jerusalem Post understands, leading to 1,800 rocket sirens sounding across the country.
As we should also know, Israel will respond:
In a statement given to Israeli media following the attack, the IDF vowed that it would strike forcefully across the Middle East on Tuesday night.
One death was reported in the West Bank area:
A Palestinian worker from Gaza was reportedly killed as a result of fragments of rockets that fell in the city of Jericho in the West Bank, according to Israeli media. US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said the administration was tracking the reported death of the Palestinian civilian in the West Bank.
Others were injured:
Magen David Adom's CEO Eli Bin announced that there was a direct hit to a building in north Tel Aviv on George Wise Street. MDA confirmed that three people had been wounded by falls in Tel Aviv.
And what some are calling a miracle occurred:
A strike also hit a home in Tel Sheva, according to Maariv. Further, a Chabad school in Gedera was hit directly, resulting in a crater and extensive damage to infrastructure, according to Israeli media.
The head of the school, which has 400 students, was quoted as saying, "Just to think that a few hours ago, there were hundreds of students there learning about Rosh Hashanah. A huge miracle happened to us." Multiple other falls were recorded in Tel Aviv, Dimona, Nabatim, Hora, Hod Hasharon, Beersheba, and Rishon Lezion. Israeli air defenses shot down dozens of missiles that flew over Syria, the Syrian army sources told Reuters.
Mostly the injuries are from missiles that the IDF kept from hitting their targets:
Video footage from KAN showed falling fragments of interceptors and missiles in the Dead Sea.
As we should also expect, airplane flights were affected as well as electrical power:
Ben Gurion Airport announced that all landings and takeoffs had been halted, and all trains were stopped. Planes that were in the air for landing made a U-turn. Airport activities later resumed on Tuesday evening. Jordan and Iraq have also closed their airspace.
Damage was caused to electricity infrastructure in parts of southern Israel following a rocket fall in Beersheba, The Israel Electric Company said Tuesday night.
Residents of the moshav of Bnei Atarot reported a power outage in their area following the rocket blast. A team of technicians arrived at the scene to repair the damages caused by the attack.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said he had mobilized 13,000 emergency standby squads, which will be immediately deployed throughout Israel.
Responding To Nasrallah's Assassination
Without getting deep into the prophetic side of this, Iran said the rocket barrage was a response to Hezbollah’s Hassan Nasrallah:
Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced that the attack was in response to the assassination of Nasrallah, and if Israel responded, it would experience a decisive blow.
I think the usual tit for tat days are over now. World War III stuff? No. Regional conflict? You betcha. The US sees it that way, too:
“The United States has indications that Iran is preparing to imminently launch a ballistic missile attack against Israel,” the official stated.
“We are actively supporting defensive preparations to defend Israel against this attack,” the US official said.
But the US also knows that Israel will unleash an attack on Iran that will not be pretty:
“A direct military attack from Iran against Israel,” the official stressed, “will carry severe consequences for Iran.”
As for Israelis the IDF wants them to know that so far, the danger is from missiles that their defense systems took down in the skies:
The IDF spokesman asked residents to remain in the protected area until further notice.
"The explosions you hear originate from interceptions or falls. The air defense system detects and intercepts threats all the time."
It’s still early, but the exact size and scope of the Iranian attack is fully known, but the IDF had a good idea what would happen:
It's presumed that this attack was be larger than the 120 ballistic missiles, 170 drones, and dozens of cruise missiles which Iran launched on Israel in April.
Three Israeli officials said beforehand that the attack would involve unmanned drones and missiles fired toward three military air bases and an intelligence headquarters north of Tel Aviv, The New York Times reported.
Israel knew early enough to let some areas to take shelter even before the warning sirens went off:
Early Tuesday evening, the IDF Home Front took the nearly unprecedented step of warning the whole Tel Aviv region to head to bomb shelters even before rocket sirens went off.
In light of the Israeli and US confirmations that Iran plans to attack Israel imminently, it appeared that the attack by Tehran had already started.
Shortly after, the IDF said it had shot down a long-range rocket launched by Hezbollah against the Tel Aviv area. However, in light of the severe and imminent concerns about Iran, the IDF said that Tel Aviv residents should stay near their bomb shelters.
Iran And Hezbollah In God’s Crosshairs
Some think that this back and forth will slow down, but I see it escalating as we read in Bible prophecy. In a prophecies in Ezekiel 28 actually talk about specific parts of Lebanon that Hezbollah occupies being heavily hit by God using Israel:
The Word of the Lord came to me saying, 21 “Son of man, look toward Sidon and speak against her. 22 Tell her, ‘The Lord God says, “I am against you, O Sidon, and My greatness will be honored among you. They will know that I am the Lord when I punish Sidon. I will show Myself holy within her. 23 For I will send disease upon her, and blood into her streets. People will be killed by the sword from every side. Then they will know that I am the Lord. 24 No longer will the people of Israel have neighbors like a sharp thistle or thorn who hate them. Then they will know that I am the Lord God. (Ezekiel 28:20-24, NLV)
When we look at a map of the area, we see where Sidon is. And when we look at a current map of the Hezbollah strongholds Sidon is where the terror organization has massive amounts of weapons stored. And in the previous verses we also see God telling of the destruction of the ancient city of Tyre which again, is near Sidon and is also right where Hezbollah has a stronghold. What Israel does to these areas fits right in with what is happening right now and it’s not a coincidence. As for Iran we need to turn to Jeremiah 49 and there it talks about the Elamites and when we look at a map of that area now with the borders of ancient Persia we see that Iran’s nuclear power plants are right there. Here is the prophecy about that area:
This is the Word of the Lord which came to Jeremiah the man of God about Elam, at the beginning of the rule of King Zedekiah of Judah, saying, 35 “The Lord of All says, ‘I will break the bow of Elam, the best of their strength. 36 I will bring the four winds to Elam from the four ends of heaven. And I will have these winds send them everywhere. There will not be a nation to which the people sent out of Elam will not go. 37 I will fill Elam with fear in front of those who hate them and want to kill them. I will bring much trouble upon them, even My burning anger,’ says the Lord. ‘I will send the sword after them until I have destroyed them. (Jer 49:34-37, NLV)
While I can’t connect the dots to the specifics of what we are seeing now, I read sufficient evidence to say that Iran and Hezbollah are fulfilling their parts in these prophecies close enough. But going back to the verses in Ezekiel 28 we also see how Israel fares once Hezbollah is taken out:
The Lord God says, ‘I will gather the people of Israel from the different nations where they have been sent. And I will show Myself holy among them in the eyes of the nations. Then they will live in their own land which I gave to My servant Jacob. 26 They will live there and be safe. They will build houses, plant grape-fields, and be safe, when I punish all those around them who speak against them. Then they will know that I am the Lord their God. (Ezekiel 28:25-26, NLV)
Since they became a nation again on May 14, 1948, they’ve never been lived their safely. Perhaps that time is coming now.
