Israel At War – Day 278
They’re Coming To America
Lots Of Terrorists Killed
As we read in a report from The Jerusalem Post the Israel Defense Force has taken out over half of the fighting force of Hamas:
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on Wednesday that 60% of Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip have been killed or wounded as a result of Israel's operation in Gaza.
He also mentioned the terrorist battalions being taken apart:
Speaking at the Knesset, he also said that Israel had broken up the majority of the 24 battalions that Hamas's military wing had at the start of the war.
"The action of the IDF that has so far led to the elimination of over 14,000 terrorists and the collapse of the military frameworks of Hamas is, in fact, the testimony of what I am saying - everything will be done in accordance with the law and in accordance with the operational need."
Gallant also brought up why they have to do things certain ways:
According to KAN news, Gallant also stated that "international legitimacy" was a significant condition for the continuation of the operation.
The Defense Minister then touched on a controversial issue with who Israel drafts to fight:
Gallant also said on Wednesday that draft notices would be delivered in the next few weeks to some ultra-Orthodox Jews who had previously been exempt from serving in the Israeli military.
Israel's Supreme Court ruled last month that the defense ministry must end the longstanding exemption for ultra-Orthodox Jews from mandatory military service.
Speaking in the Israeli parliament, Gallant said the plan was to send out thousands of draft notices, though not all given such notices would end up serving.
The fractious coalition government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu relies on two ultra-Orthodox parties who oppose the end of the exemption. However, the IDF says they need more recruits to keep Israel safe and sustain the war against the Hamas terrorist group in Gaza.
Overall the war against Hamas is almost over in the intense stages as Gallant feels, but it is the war in the north that is heating up.
US Releases More Weapons
We learn from an article in The Times Of Israel that the US administrations is sending half of the large bombs mentioned earlier as being held up:
The Biden administration has released about half of the shipment of heavy bombs it has withheld from Israel since May over concerns the IDF would use them in densely populated areas of Gaza, a US official tells The Times of Israel.
The original hold up was over the Rafah offensive:
In May, the White House announced a decision to withhold a shipment of 1,800 2,000-lb bombs and 1,700 500-lb bombs, with US President Joe Biden threatening to freeze additional offensive weaponry if Israel launched a major military offensive in Gaza’s southernmost city of Rafah where over one million Palestinians were sheltering at the time.
The plans in Rafah were changed and the people were evacuated, something many thought couldn’t be done:
Israel subsequently tailored its operations to account for the administration’s concerns of mass-civilian casualties, and the sides were on a path to resolve the issue of the withheld shipment, an Israeli official tells The Times of Israel.
As we know, the PM publicly criticized the United States because arms shipments were delayed and nothing was done after numerous behind the scenes conversations:
But last month, Netanyahu publicly claimed that the US had adopted a broader policy of withholding weapons shipments from Israel, infuriating the Biden administration, and setting back efforts to at least partially release the withheld shipment of heavy bombs, the Israeli official says.
Israel Defense Minister Gallant then intervened and things appear to be better:
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant managed to patch over some of the disagreements during his visit to Washington in late June, the Israeli official adds, pointing to the subsequent US decision to release the 1,700 500-lb bombs.
But the 2,000-lb bombs are still being held back. The article explains why the US is still holding them back:
Netanyahu has claimed that he only went public with the dispute over weapon transfers after months of efforts to solve the issue privately failed.
“We’ve been clear that our concern has been on the end-use of the 2,000-lb bombs, particularly in advance of Israel’s Rafah campaign, which they have announced they are concluding,” the US official says.
“Because of how these shipments are put together, other munitions may sometimes be co-mingled. That’s what happened here with the 500-lb bombs.”
“Since our main concern had been and remains the potential use of 2,000 lb bombs in Rafah and elsewhere in Gaza, the 500-lb bombs are moving forward as part of the usual process,” the US official adds.
Israel is just not being trusted by some in the US administration and it could very well be politics as usual. However, it appears that the IDF is still getting the job done in Rafah while releasing the larger bombs is still being disputed.
Terrorist Sleeper Cells In The US
When Prime Minister Netanyahu says that their fight against terrorism will help the rest of the world, we now have proof that is true as we read in an exclusive report from WND.com:
Every day, prominent voices sound an ever-more-urgent alarm over the Biden administration's border policies and the multiple threats to the nation's security they are causing.
The report cites many examples of what they are concerned about:
* … in June, the Daily Caller reported that a Chinese government agent ran a private social network to provide thousands of illegal immigrants with resources to enter the U.S. and evade authorities at the border.
* And in May, a pair of Jordanian nationals were arrested for attempting to ram their way into Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia with a box truck. One of the two had recently been screened by the Border Patrol, but was subsequently allowed into the U.S. with no restrictions anyway.
For some, the last example is taste of what’s to come:
But for global security expert and Army veteran Ben Varlese, the Jordanians' attempted terror attack "was nothing more than a test run."
WND spoke in-depth with Varlese, a former Army Mountain Infantry Platoon Sergeant who served in domestic and overseas roles from 2001-2018, including as a sniper section leader. Since 2018, Varlese has also provided security consulting services for public and private sectors, including tactical training, physical and information security, executive protection, protective intelligence, risk management, insider threat mitigation and anti-terrorism.
Varlese made it extremely clear what he’s seeing should concern all of us:
"There have been several incidents in previous months," Varlese told WND, "that serve to highlight the continued national security threat presented by this administration's encouraged flood of illegal aliens over the last three and a half years."
The number of people entering the U.S. illegally is concerning beyond explanation, said Varlese. "At least 8 million illegal aliens from over 100 countries have crossed the southern border in the last three-and-a-half years," he noted, adding that "almost all have been released and even transported to 48 states by the DHS or various non-governmental organizations."
He doesn’t see proper vetting being done:
"Almost none have been properly vetted," Varlese told WND, including many thousands of individuals from "hostile or terror haven countries" like Afghanistan, Venezuela, Syria and China. He also pointed out, chillingly, that, "Most of the illegals that have flooded the southern border since … Biden undid all of President Trump's border policies are military-age males."
He concedes that some aren’t here with bad intentions, but some most definitely are:
Although "most are likely here for economic reasons," he said, "there are undoubtedly a significant number of bad actors that have been given a free pass to create sleeper cells in almost every American urban area."
Varlese thinks its not if but when an attack happens:
Example: "Because there are tens of thousands of Chinese nationals, hundreds on the terror watch list, and millions of unvetted individuals scattered across the country," warns Varlese, "it is not a question of if something bad will happen, but when."
China could be a big part of this threat:
"In recent years," he said, "there have been an unusual number of physical infrastructure and agricultural – food processing plants, stockyards and herd/flock deaths 'attacks' or curious circumstances connected to U.S. logistics and supply chains that have already been strained from tyrannical COVID-19 lockdowns in years past."
"As a result of the illegal immigration crisis," he warned, "the threat of sabotage – physical or digital – from Chinese interests is exponentially compounded because of the illegal immigration crisis."
Still, terrorists from other parts of the world should cause us to pause:
"Similarly," Varlese told WND, "individuals from Iran and Venezuela, as well as other bad actors connected to the Taliban, Al-Qaida and Da’esh (Islamic State/ISIS) have infiltrated the U.S. and could cause no end of havoc domestically."
Whatever the stated altruistic motives of the Biden regime, said Varlese, in reality "they're inviting disaster."
