Israel At War – Day 277
It Could Happen Anytime
Retaliatory Strike
We read in a report from The Jerusalem Post that a husband and wife died as a result of one of 40 rockets fired from Hezbollah into the Golan Heights in Israel:
A husband and wife were killed after projectiles were fired from Lebanon to the Golan Heights, the police said on Tuesday.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Fire and Rescue Authority stated that it had rescued two individuals who had been in a vehicle that had sustained a direct hit.
Magen David Adom (MDA) said the two had been critically wounded.
MDA paramedics Aviv Attar and Tarek Heyb recounted what they saw upon arrival at the scene. "Immediately after the alerts, we received a report of two casualties and went to the scene. We arrived at the area, and the scene was difficult; we saw a vehicle that had received a direct hit, and in the front part of it, an unconscious man and woman who were critically wounded."
We learned later that the pair had perished from their wounds. The rocket and 39 others apparently were a response to another high leader in Hezbollah being killed earlier:
The IDF said some 40 projectiles had crossed from Lebanon into the center of the Golan Heights, with falls being detected.
Fires erupted in eight different locations in the area following the fall of the projectiles, the Fire and Rescue Authority noted.
Earlier on Tuesday, Yasser Nimr Qarbash, former bodyguard to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in an alleged Israeli strike on the Damascus-Beirut highway.
We learn more on that from another article from The Post:
An alleged Israeli strike hit a vehicle in Syrian territory on the Damascus-Beirut highway, killing one of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's former bodyguards, who security sources said was lately involved in transporting weapons for the terror group.
Hezbollah issued a statement mourning Yasser Nimr Qarbash without elaborating on his role in the organization.
Two security sources said the former bodyguard had become a mid-ranking Hezbollah official involved in the transport of weapons.
We keep saying allegedly from the Israeli side because they don’t publicly acknowledge assassinations:
Israel typically does not discuss attacks by its forces in Syria. When asked about the strike, an Israeli military spokesperson told Reuters: "We do not comment on reports in the foreign media."
As I’ve said in the past all of this back and forth with strikes between Israel and Hezbollah will end with one side or the other deciding to attack in full to completely stop them. Whichever party starts the attack, which I think will be Hezbollah, the other will also open up their full military might in response. Regardless, the car that was hit is only the tip of the proverbial iceberg between these enemies.
Proxies Are Arming Up
We learn from a report from CBN.com that Iran is getting it’s proxies ready for an all-out attack on Israel. We read that Hezbollah is the key to these proxies:
Amiad Cohen is a major in the IDF on the Israeli-Lebanese border and founded the Herut Center, an Israeli conservative think tank. He warns the Iranian-backed Hezbollah is a formidable adversary.
"Basically, we need to think about Hezbollah as the ground troops of Iran on the northern border with Israel. That's the only way to think about it. They're funded, supported, and trained by Iran," Cohen told CBN News.
The report tells us what we’ve always known about this terrorist group, news that is still important to keep in mind:
Where it matters most, he says Hezbollah is extremely well-armed.
"Hezbollah is a real army. It doesn't have tanks; well, it has a handful of them. But that's not what's important," Cohen stated. "It first of all has 150,000 rockets that range from 10 to 500 kilometers – that's across all of Israel. And tens of thousands of them are accurate, which can hurt Tel Aviv and Jerusalem and other cities inside Israel. This is a different war."
Cohen makes a good point about how well prepared and armed Hezbollah is:
Hezbollah's missile and rocket arsenal is larger than most European nations, and Cohen says Hezbollah's troops are well-trained and battle-ready.
He goes into more detail about them, but saves the money quote for last when sharing these details:
"There are special units – the Radwan forces and other units – they have soldiers who are experienced from the war in Syria," Cohen explained. "They're Shiites, so let's say suicidal soldiers who believe religiously in what they do. And that's challenging: all their experience. And they're all backed up with the Iranian army with its technology. Iran has a very good technological army. We know that. To be honest, we're better. We can win this war. But we need to understand who the enemy is. Hamas is a piece of cake compared to Hezbollah."
In an ominous bit of information, the article tell us this about the real puppet master:
Reuters released new satellite photos that show Iran is expanding its missile production facilities. These facilities can supply Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen with more missiles and rockets.
The report reminds us again that Hezbollah can and most likely will use those weapons:
Since October 8th, Hezbollah has fired thousands of rockets and missiles into Israel, leaving dozens of communities in the north deserted, and tens of thousands of Israelis forced from their homes and livelihoods. So many believe it's just a matter of time before a full-scale war will break out between Israel and Hezbollah.
Cohen did say something that I want point out and that he believes that the IDF is better than Iran and Hezbollah. Israel has more in their arsenal than probably anyone really knows and is only using about 1/10th of its capabilities. I think they will need to use it if they have to eliminate the terrorist threats from Iran and their proxies. As you pray for the peace of Jerusalem factor into those prayers that Israel will be divinely equipped with the intel to fight and the military might to prevail. And requesting a few angels to help wouldn’t be bad thing either.
