Israel At War – Day 200
Jews Continue To Be Hated
Latest Hamas Propaganda
Hamas is pushing a story that there are mass graves where they say that the Israel Defense Force (IDF) buried Palestinians as we read in an article from The Jerusalem Post:
Gazans have reported discovering a mass grave with over 200 bodies on Monday near the Nasser Hospital in the city of Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip.
The Qatari-based news outlet Al-Jazeera published a report on the matter claiming that Palestinian civil defense members and paramedics have retrieved "300 bodies buried in this mass grave by the Israeli military."
As with any information coming out of Hamas-controlled Gazans, we can expect that this is yet another round of misinformation meant to discredit Israel. As we should expect, the IDF responded with incredulity:
The IDF has rejected these claims in an official statement in response to the reports saying that they are "baseless and unfounded."
The IDF spokesperson unit continued saying that, "that the claim that the IDF buried Palestinian bodies is baseless and unfounded.
During the IDF’s operation in the area of Nasser Hospital, in accordance to the effort to locate hostages and missing persons, corpses buried by Palestinians in the area of Nasser Hospital were examined.
The IDF continued to give more information on what happened:
The examination was conducted in a carful manner and exclusively in places where intelligence indicated the possible presence of hostages.
The examination was carried out respectfully while maintaining the dignity of the deceased. Bodies examined, which did not belong to Israeli hostages, were returned to their place.
And also as expected the international community did they usual knee jerk response without waiting for the facts:
The US State Department said on Tuesday that reports on mass graves in Gaza were troubling.
UN rights chief Volker Turk said earlier on Tuesday he was "horrified" by the mass grave reports at Gaza hospitals.
Israel is always guilty until proven innocent, but I’ll wait for the retractions when the facts some out. I’m also waiting for snow in July in the Midwest. Neither will come unless either is a fluke.
Arrests Begin
I mentioned that if protests on colleges that are violent are without consequences they will only continue and that if laws are enforced things will improve. As we see in a report from The Times of Israel arrests are actually being made:
Clashes broke out between NYPD officers and demonstrators at New York University after police moved in to clear out an anti-Israel “liberated zone” set up by pro-Palestinian protesters late Monday amid reports of antisemitic incidents, the latest violence as unrest over the Israel-Hamas war spreads to campuses across the US.
Officers in riot gear scuffled with demonstrators, after the police began getting rid of equipment and arresting protesters for violating an order to disperse. Some of the protesters appeared to act violently toward officers, with a masked man draped in a keffiyeh throwing a chair toward them.
One hundred and thirty-three protesters — including students and faculty — were arrested, police said on Tuesday, and all of them were released overnight.
As expected most involved in these protests are incredulous about actually being arrested for breaking the law:
“It’s a really outrageous crackdown by the university to allow the police to arrest students on our own campus,” said New York University law student Byul Yoon.
I am not against protesting as long as they are peaceful. When verbal assaults and actual violent threats occur then those protesting must face the results of their actions. It comes with the territory. To complain about being arrested and charged for crimes you actually committed should be a no brainer for this law student. But I digress. People are being attacked:
A pro-Israel student said she was stabbed in the eye by a pro-Palestinian protester’s flag at the protests, which have been condemned by Democratic Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, who represents the district and has called for a temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, where Israeli forces are fighting the Hamas terror group in response to its October 7 onslaught.
Delauro went on to say this:
“Inciting hatred and violence toward Jewish students and community members, as we have seen at other universities, is completely unacceptable and those responsible for violence must be held accountable,” DeLauro wrote.
1938 All Over Again
In another article from The Times Of Israel a Jewish professor was denied entry to Columbia University’s main campus simply because he is Jewish:
An outspoken Israeli professor was blocked from entering a portion of the Columbia University campus and Jewish members of Congress demanded action from the administration on Monday as pro-Palestinian protests against Israel continued to roil the Manhattan university.
Shai Davidai, an Israeli assistant professor at Columbia University’s business school, had announced on social media that he planned to enter the university’s main campus on Monday morning to hold a “peaceful sit-in” in the area of pro-Palestinian demonstrators who have occupied the campus lawn since last week.
The university denied him entrance to the area:
But the university deactivated Davidai’s Columbia ID card, preventing him from accessing the main campus, which is currently restricted only to those who hold valid Columbia IDs. Davidai teaches at the business school, a separate area from the main campus, and still has access to that location.
The university’s chief operating officer, Cas Holloway, met Davidai at the entrance to tell him he would not be allowed in.
Davidai has been feuding with the university for months:
About an hour earlier, Davidai had posted a message he had received from Holloway, saying he would be allowed to hold a counter-protest at an area that is separate from the encampment, with the protection of public safety officers. Decrying the offer as a “continuation of six months of gaslighting and degrading the Jewish community,”
The professor used colorful words I won’t repeat here. He did make a connection to another time of Jewish hatred in world history:
“This is 1938,” he wrote in another post, referring to the dismissal of Jewish staff from universities in Nazi Germany in the years leading up to the Holocaust.
Unfortunately those protesting with Davidai are not students but older adults since the students had to leave the campus for safety reasons which says something in and of itself. When it’s not safe for any group of people to freely attend classes or even be on campus simply because of their culture, free speech suffers as does freedom of religion.
Antisemitism Is Growing
We cannot just ignore these protests since more and more of them are happening and not just randomly as there is group promoting and helping them out. The group, Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) as we continue to read in the same Times article cited earlier is actively promoting more of these protests:
Students across the country said the Columbia arrests only further emboldened them to call for their universities to divest from Israel. Buoyed by the growing number of demonstrations, the national umbrella of Students for Justice in Palestine announced the launch of a cross-campus initiative called “Popular University for Gaza.”
“Over the last 72 hours, SJP chapters across the country have erupted in a fierce display of power targeted at their universities for their endless complicity and profiteering off the genocide in Gaza and colonization of Palestine,” the group posted on X, on Sunday afternoon.
It’s one thing to fight for a cause you believe in, but this is far more than that. You may not agree with me on this, but hating Jews is not new and Jesus, who was Jewish Himself said that this hatred would not go away but would be a sign of the times just before His Second Coming. I’ll go even further and tell you that it is inspired by Satan himself and it a sign of the spirit of the Antichrist, a devilish man who will be the greatest antisemite who ever lived. These protestors won’t see it this way, but there is a definite spiritual component in all this. Unfortunately, this isn’t going to go away, but Bible-believing people need to speak out against it and more importantly pray against it. It may be on college campuses now, but it could easily extend out if it isn’t addressed. You may think I’m overexaggerating this, but history tells us otherwise.
