Israel At War – Day 34
Shocking News Revealed
Localized Pauses
While there have been “pauses” for a few hours to allow Palestinians in Gaza to escape as seen in this quote from The Times Of Israel ( see https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog-november-9-2023/):
A senior Israeli official tells The Times of Israel that the “tactical, localized” pauses that Israel has agreed to start implementing today are an expansion of the humanitarian corridors that it began operating on Sunday to allow Gazans to evacuate from northern to southern Gaza — away from the most intense areas of fighting.
These new, four-hour pauses will take place in a different northern Gaza neighborhood each day, with residents notified three hours ahead of time. They will be able to use this time to either evacuate to the south via the two humanitarian corridors that Israel has established, or leave their homes in order to restock on food, medicine and other aid, the senior Israeli official says.
The neighborhoods chosen for the pauses will not be announced ahead of time in order to prevent Hamas from exploiting them for its own military purposes.
The caveat is read in this article from the same blog which refers to White House official with knowledge of the plan:
“Of course, if Hamas takes advantage of these pauses to initiate combat activities or fire rockets, the IDF said they will take action in response to the origin of the threat,” the White House official adds.
No Ceasefire
There will not be a 3 day ceasefire as many countries, including the United States have pushed for. According to Israel’s president, there is only one term Hamas can meet for a ceasefire (see https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog-november-9-2023/) :
President Isaac Herzog meets at the renamed “Hostage Square” in Tel Aviv with families of Israelis held hostage in Gaza.
“We are here… to embrace, to strengthen and to pray with the families of the hostages,” he says.
“Israel is doing everything in its power, and it is missing no opportunity to reach the moment when we will bring the hostage home,” he promises. “This is the holiest mission we have, along with defeating Hamas in the war being fought by the best of our soldiers in Gaza.
“We are dealing with a bitter, cruel enemy,” he says. “It knows no God.”
“There will be no ceasefire without the return of the hostages,” Herzog vows.
Herzog’s words mirror what Prime Minister Netanhyu previously said and that no ceasefire will happen until all the hostages are released. It is unlikely Hamas will comply since these people are their only bargaining chips. But there are other signs pointing to an all out conflict with no end in sight.
A Permanent War With Israel
I mentioned other signs and this a big one. As rockets continue to be shot at Israel, the terrorists are not going to stop fighting until, as the saying goes, from the river to the sea, Palestinians will be free. Of course, the river is the Jordan River and the sea is the Mediterranean. In this report from The Times Of Israel (see https://www.timesofisrael.com/hamas-says-it-staged-massacres-to-cause-permanent-state-of-war-on-israels-borders/?utm_source=article_hpsidebar&utm_medium=desktop_site&utm_campaign=herzog-tells-coalition-to-abandon-oppressive-overhaul-package-seek-consensus) , we hear from one Hamas leader, who states exactly that they fully intend to control all the borders of the land, not just Gaza:
“What could change the equation was a great act, and without a doubt, it was known that the reaction to this great act would be big,” Khalil al-Hayya told The New York Times in an interview published Wednesday. “We had to tell people that the Palestinian cause would not die.”
We succeeded in putting the Palestinian issue back on the table, and now no one in the region is experiencing calm,” Al-Hayya said, confirming that he considered the attacks a success.
While world leaders have been pushing for Israel to agree to a ceasefire in its war against the Gaza terror group, Al-Hayya and other Hamas members dismissed the idea that they want to govern Gaza and restore a sense of calm, instead expressing support for endless conflict.
Another Hamas official added this:
“I hope that the state of war with Israel will become permanent on all the borders, and that the Arab world will stand with us,” Hamas media consultant Taher El-Nounou told The Times.
I can’t see a ceasefire anywhere in those comments.
Fighting Close To The Hospital
The Israel Defense Force (IDF) is operating in what they call the Hamas “military quarter.” Of course Hamas has its main headquarters right under the Shifa hospital. This area is literally the heart of the terrorists activities and will need to be destroyed if Hamas is going to be eliminated. The IDF released a map of the Hamas presence which is described in this quote from The Times Of Israel’s liveblog (see https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog-november-9-2023/) :
The IDF says troops found intelligence materials, tunnels, weapons manufacturing plants and anti-tank missile launch positions.
The quarter houses “strategic” Hamas sites, according to the IDF, including the terror group’s intelligence and air defense headquarters, political bureau offices, and a police station.
The IDF says the largest Hamas training camp is also in the quarter, along with other military positions, weapons manufacturing plants and warehouses, command centers, offices of Hamas commanders, and underground infrastructure — all embedded in the “heart of the civilian population.”
“This is further proof of the terrorist organization’s cynical use of the residents of the Gaza Strip as a human shield for its murderous terrorist activity,” the IDF says.
Possible Hostage Release Could Happen
Another terrorist group in Gaza seemed to hint that two more hostages will be set free soon. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) says it is willing to release 2 of its hostages allowing the two to be seen in a video. We read more on this development in an article from i24news.tv (https://www.i24news.tv/en/news/israel-at-war/1699548671-palestinian-islamic-jihad-says-willing-to-release-2-israeli-hostages-releases-video) :
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist group released a psychological warfare hostage video on Thursday of two Israelis being held in Gaza.
The group said in a separate statement that they are willing to release the pair, Hanna Katzir, 77, and Yagil Yaakov, 12, both of Kibbutz Nir Oz, for "humanitarian reasons."
In the video, both of the hostages criticize Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel and the actions of the Israeli government, while praising Islamic Jihad and the treatment they have received in Gaza.
The humanitarian reasons are most likely because both have medical issues as detailed in the same report:
Both of these hostages have complicated medical situations- Hanna's family previously released a statement saying that they are "very concerned about Hanna, a former kibbutz nanny who uses a walker, since she takes medications and requires constant medical attention."
Additionally, the young boy, Yagil, has a life threatening peanut allergy. TheIsraeli Association of Allergy and Clinical Immunology has previously sent an urgent call to international Allergy organizations insisting that the boy be seen and examined by representatives of the Red Cross, and be provided with injectable epinephrine.
Shocking Revelations Revealed
As seen in a CBN.com article journalists were embedded with the Hamas terrorists when the October 7th attack occurred. Apparently a watchdog group released the news (see https://www2.cbn.com/news/israel/50000-palestinians-flee-south-expose-shows-journalists-infiltrated-hamas-during) :
Back in Israel, the watchdog group Honest Reporting released an exposé that shows Gaza-based freelance journalists who worked for publications such as the Associated Press, The New York Times, CNN and Reuters documented the October 7th massacre.
Honest Reporting's Gil Hoffman told CBN News this raises ethical questions.
“What were they doing in our country?" Hoffman asked. "You know, journalists just can’t go into our country without permission. That’s something that terrorists do. They infiltrated together with terrorists. That alone was aiding and abetting what the terrorists were doing. Here you’re talking about people who took pictures with selfies with tanks as people were being murdered.”
A video of Hassan Eslaiah, a freelancer for CNN and AP, shows him pictured with Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind of the October 7th massacre. AP said it had no knowledge of the attacks before they happened.
More Details given
We turn to the actual web site, honestreporting.com (see https://honestreporting.com/photographers-without-borders-ap-reuters-pictures-of-hamas-atrocities-raise-ethical-questions/) to get more details:
On October 7, Hamas terrorists were not the only ones who documented the war crimes they had committed during their deadly rampage across southern Israel. Some of their atrocities were captured by Gaza-based photojournalists working for the Associated Press and Reuters news agencies whose early morning presence at the breached border area raises serious ethical questions.
What were they doing there so early on what would ordinarily have been a quiet Saturday morning? Was it coordinated with Hamas? Did the respectable wire services, which published their photos, approve of their presence inside enemy territory, together with the terrorist infiltrators? Did the photojournalists who freelance for other media, like CNN and The New York Times, notify these outlets? Judging from the pictures of lynching, kidnapping and storming of an Israeli kibbutz, it seems like the border has been breached not only physically, but also journalistically.
Were they just there coincidentally? The web site divulged the quartet seeing their names on AP’s photo credits from the Israel-Gaza border area on October 7. They are Hassan Eslaiah, Yousef Masoud, Ali Mahmud, and Hatem Ali. Eslaiah and the others pictures and videos give them attribution, but a troubling picture of Hassan Eslaiah was discovered where he is pictured with Hamas leader and mastermind of the Oct. 7 massacre, Yahya Sinwar. The various news outlets distanced themselves from the journalists but didn’t apologize for the obvious collusion which produced the media. Some even praised their work, which only adds to the current state of distrust for mainstream journalism. As we would expect, Israeli leadership was furious to learn of this demanding explanations and immediate actions.
Need I Remind You
I talked about the ongoing fighting between Arabs and Jews and even showed you a map of the boundaries of the land God promised to Abram. I found a short Bible history lesson from an online Bible study (see http://www.jeremiahstudybible.com/Genesis/arab-israeli-conflict/) .
In is we read this:
Arabs could also be called Ishmaelites since they are the descendants of Ishmael, the son of Abraham by Hagar, the maidservant of Abraham's wife, Sarah. God had promised Abraham and Sarah innumerable descendants (Genesis 15:5), but the couple remained childless. Growing impatient, Sarah offered Hagar to Abraham as a surrogate, and Hagar bore him a son named Ishmael. Sarah grew resentful of Hagar and drove her away, but God rescued her and said she would have a son who would be "a wild donkey of a man" who would "live in hostility toward all his brothers" (Genesis 16:12, NIV).
Abraham was compassionate toward Ishmael (Genesis 17:18), but Sarah urged Abraham to drive Hagar and her son away from their family. In spite of her banishment, God promised Hagar that her son would become the progenitor of a great nation which he obviously did (Genesis 17:20; 21:19-20; 25:12-16). Ishmael and Isaac together buried their father Abraham when he died (Genesis 25:9). But after Ishmael's death, his descendants "lived in hostility toward all their brothers" (Genesis 25:18, NIV).
I’m not going to go into a big Bible lesson on this one, but we really need to obey God and carry out His commands to us. Disobeying only leads to needless heartache and pain, and as we in the story of Sarah and Abraham, centuries old bloodshed, anger and tears. Do I need to say anything more? I don’t think so.
