Close To A Deal?

According to a report from World Israel News Iran could agree to a “breakthrough” that could eventually end the current conflict:

The United States and Iran are moving closer to a short memorandum that could end the war and open a new 30-day negotiation period on unresolved issues, CNN reported Wednesday, citing a regional source familiar with the talks.

So, we’re going to have an agreement to talk longer? This is pure Iranian negotiations. Stop pounding us and we’ll talk about the issues you attacked us on in the first place. Stall, stall, stall. Even agreeing to let them survive. As long as even one mullah is alive they see it as a win. But this could all fall apart as well:

The White House received positive feedback Tuesday from Pakistani mediators, who said Iran appeared to be moving toward a compromise, two Trump administration officials said. The officials, however, cautioned that previous rounds of talks had collapsed at the last minute. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that the US had held “very good talks” with Iran over the previous 24 hours while also warning that military action could resume if Tehran does not agree to a deal.

Trump even echoed that hesitance:

“Yeah, I think so, but I felt that way before with them, so we’ll see what happens,” Trump told PBS News when asked whether a deal could be reached soon.

He also went out of his way to remind us what could happen if Iran fails to really take the talks seriously:

Earlier Wednesday, Trump wrote on Truth Social that if Iran does not reach an agreement, the “bombing starts” and would be of a “higher level and intensity than it was before.”

What’s On The Table?

Many like me want to know what deal is being discussed:

According to CNN, a one-page plan being discussed internally would declare an end to the war and begin a 30-day negotiation period covering nuclear issues, frozen Iranian assets and future security in the Strait of Hormuz.

If the reports are accurate the answer should be known soon:

A regional source told CNN that Iran is expected to give mediators its response Thursday.

As is expected, the nuclear program is front and center:

The exact terms of the proposal could not be immediately verified. A source familiar with the plan said it would include discussion of a moratorium on uranium enrichment lasting more than 10 years. A previous US proposal had called for a 20-year moratorium, while Iran had pushed for a five-year ban.

Iran would also have to relinquish the uranium they already had:

The plan would also require Iran to ship its stockpile of highly enriched uranium out of the country, though details remained under negotiation. Trump told PBS News that a potential deal would include Iran shipping the material to the United States and pledging not to operate its underground facilities.

This is where Iran has drawn a line before with these talks:

But the idea of sending the uranium to the US helped derail Vice President JD Vance’s talks with Iranian officials in Pakistan last month.

As of this report, no answer from Iran is given, but they do have to offer:

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran was still reviewing the latest US proposal.

“The US plan and proposal is still under review by Iran, and after finalizing its viewpoints, Iran will convey them to the Pakistani side,” Baghaei told Iran’s ISNA news agency.

As for me any agreement with the current leaders in Iran is an exercise in futility. They make deals to break them and always have. If they agree to stop nuclear programs for any period of time they will simply start again when they can. If I recall, after the attack last June, Iran agreed to halt their nuclear ambitions and ballistic missile production to get Trump to stop attacking them. They then went right back to which led to the current attacks. What makes anyone think they’ll obey any time frame now? Trust me when I tell you that they are going to wait out Trump for the rest of his term and take their chances with whoever the US elects in 2028. The best way to get what Trump wants is to eliminate anyone who is in the government right now to the last one. And then let the Iranians elect a person who will be a modern Western one who will allow freedom from stem to stern. Which means stop the diplomacy and go back to hammering the living daylights out of them until they are all pushing up daisies. Will the US do that? Probably not, but Israel is not going to allow a single Ayatollah or IRGC leader to survive so I suspect they will clean up this mess which actually fits with Bible prophecy, Regardless, continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
