They’re Real

Former President Barack Obama shocked us when he actually said that aliens are real as we see in an article from Time.com:

Former President Barack Obama said in an interview published Saturday that aliens are “real,” but added that he hadn’t seen them. Asked by progressive podcaster Brian Tyler Cohen about the existence of extraterrestrial life, the former president responded: “They’re real.”

“But I haven’t seen them. They’re not being kept at Area 51. There’s no underground facility—unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the President of the United States.”

He was quick to back the truth truck on that later after it causes a major stir:

The brevity of Obama's comment sparked a frenzy of speculation online, prompting the former president to issue a clarification on Instagram 24 hours later.

"I was trying to stick with the spirit of the speed round, but since it’s gotten attention let me clarify," he wrote."

"Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there. But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we’ve been visited by aliens is low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really!"

Current US President Donald Trump responded that Obama revealed too much about the aliens as we’re told in an article from US Today:

President Donald Trump accused Barack Obama of releasing classified information in comments the former president made recently about aliens.

"He gave classified information, he's not supposed to be doing that," Trump told reporters Feb. 19 aboard Air Force One, adding it was a "big mistake."

Past presidents have dealt with the whole UFO/Alien subject so this isn’t new. President Jimmy Carter said he saw one as did President Ronald Reagan. Trump did offer his opinion on it:

"No, I don't have an opinion on it," Trump added. "I never talk about it. A lot of people do. A lot of people believe it."

Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump caused a stir saying Trump has a speech ready is extraterrestrial life is found prompting Trump’s press secretary to say this as seen in an article from Axios:

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt Wednesday told reporters Wednesday that such a speech would be of "great interest," though she said if it exists, she has yet to be briefed on it.

The Truth Is Out There

Regardless of what you think about the topic, we are hearing about Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) from a lot of people, including our government. Seeing flying objects in the skies isn’t a new thing, but it provides more questions than answers, especially for Christians, since those who espouse theories on their existence often use portions of the Bible to support those beliefs. Growing up, before I was a believer in Christ, I bought into these theories, even thinking that Jesus could have been an alien astronaut which was fed by a popular book at the time called Chariots of the Gods? by Erich von Däniken. I proposed the topic to my mother who immediately asked me what I was reading. I showed her the book to which she responded by suggesting I read the Bible. Smart woman. In any event, talk of such things is heating up again as we careen towards the last of the last days.

Broaching The Bunk

I was more than knee deep in the theories, so I recall all the reasoning about UFOs. As the thinking goes, there are advanced beings from who knows what galaxy that came to earth to explore, manipulate or take over our planet. Depending on the source, these highly intelligent creatures either gave us the knowledge to build pyramids or aided in the process. They may have “seeded” our race to help us advance quicker and are coming back to check up on us to make sure we don’t get too far down the path of destroying ourselves. There are as many theories as people and the topic is a cottage industry spawning conventions, books, movies and television shows. Why is this so fascinating? Without getting too much into the weeds, I believe it is because we inherently know there is a higher power and want to know more about it.

Eternity Is In Us

Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. (Ecc 3:11, NLV)

In this verse written by King Solomon, we read a very insightful explanation why we aspire to know more about God since He somehow put that spark in us. Some have said there is a God-shaped hole in our hearts that only God can fill, and we try and fill it with a lot of things that will leave us coming up short in our drive to not have a vacuum there. More than not, we fill that gaping hole with images of things made in our own image which includes these ideas of higher beings visiting out planet. These are of course lies and half-truths foisted on us by our own imaginations and enhanced by the father of all lies, Satan. How do we know this? The devil is only going to make us believe things that take us farther away from God, Jesus and salvation. And if he can’t destroy our faith, he will muddy the waters by mixing truth and lies that make us look better and God look weaker.

Straining To Make Things Fit

Some theologians try to make sense of all these things that are getting easier to document as technology advances and in their attempts to address what unbelievers and some believers question as being real, they develop some rather strange notions. They admit that they are real and then go down rabbit holes that tell us that God created intelligent life on other planets, which they then propose that Jesus had to die for these beings and then that these aliens are curious about us as they have advanced technology so see us and travel to us. It gets more convoluted as they try to make what the Bible tells us fit the “evidence” supporting alien life and the crafts they use to travel to us. While you may be chuckling as I tell you this, I am not making it up. Occam’s Razor, the principle that when faced with competing explanations for the same phenomenon, the simplest is likely the correct one, would suit us well. But we like to sound smart and the actual explanation is very easy, but it causes some problems for people if true.

Demons Are Afoot

Yes, these phenomena are products of demonic activity and are meant to confuse, confound and collapse belief in God. I’m sorry to burst the bubbles of those who want to have their faith in Jesus and belief in UFOs and the aliens in them as from God. And I certainly want to deflate the theories of those outside Christianity who ascribe advanced civilizations from times past as only existing by extraterrestrial intervention. This lesson isn’t designed to be an exhaustive explanation on the topic, just a cursory effort to bring clarity where confusion reigns now. The only creatures from another existence are angels or demons and they fight for different sides. Eternity and salvation are what they fight for on behalf of their leader, whether it be God or Satan. Any tactic the accuser of the brethren uses is always going to take us further from God and make salvation harder to get if being saved from an eternity without Him is to be achieved. Demons, who are fallen angels can make themselves appear as anything including aliens and make us see alien spacecrafts that will fit right in with our preconceived notions.

Life On Other Planets?

I like how Ken Ham explains this:

From (the Bible) it would seem that the earth is very special—it is center stage. Everything else was made for purposes relating to the earth. For instance, the sun, moon, and stars were made “for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years” (Genesis 1:14).

Throughout the Old Testament, many passages distinguish between the heavens and the earth. Psalm 115:16 states, “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth has he given to the children of men.”

Many other passages single out the earth as being special, made for humans to dwell on, and a focus of God’s attention, such as Isaiah 66:1: “Thus says the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool.”

Isaiah 40:22 likens the heavens to a curtain that God basically stretches around Him: “It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in.”

Such verses certainly imply that the earth is to be considered separate and special when compared with the rest of the universe, so they suggest that the earth alone was created for life. So far, based on man’s limited exploration of space and the solar system, this certainly holds true.

But there is a theological reason that I believe rules out the possibility of intelligent life in outer space.

The Bible makes it clear in Romans 8:22 that the “whole creation groans” because of Adam’s sin. When Adam fell, the entire universe was affected. Not only this, but one day in the future, there will be “a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away” (Revelation 21:1).

Isaiah 34:4 states, “And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falls off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.”

Intelligent Life Is Rare

British cosmologist Stephen Hawking, when asked about the possibility of life on other planets, said that life is very common—but “intelligent life” is rare. Explaining his views, Hawking joked, “Some would say it has yet to occur on earth.” He has a good point there. As people try to make themselves look wise, they tend to make themselves fools in the eyes of God. As it says in Psalm 14:1 the fool believes in their heart there is no God and needing to explain the existence of UFOs and aliens will obviously leave out the Bible. We know better. Fallen angels are doing their best to misdirect humanity from believing in God and Jesus and using aliens and intelligent life on other planets as one of their ruses fits right in. Don’t fall for any of it. Stick to your guns and point people to what Scripture has to say and you’ll be fine. In these last days a strong delusion will be front, and center and we must be beacons of truth for those willing to see the light. Trust me when I say, the truth will win if people are intellectually honest and open to listen to it.
