Looking North

All eyes usually turn to the south and defeating Hamas these days and to fair, that group is going to get their clocks cleaned now that they won’t disarm. But now that Lebanon isn’t going to be able to disarm the terrorists to the north taking care of Hezbollah is back on the front burner as we see in an article from i24mews.tv:

Israel’s military has expressed serious doubts that the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) will meet the end-of-month deadline for the first phase of disarming Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, an Israeli official told i24NEWS. The original timeline was announced earlier this year by the Lebanese government and the United States as part of broader efforts to curb the group’s presence in the region. According to the Israeli source, while the LAF is conducting unprecedented operations to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure, it remains a “very weak” force and faces significant operational challenges.

One issue is that the LAF is hesitant to attack it’s own people who are harboring Hezbollah:

The Lebanese army reportedly avoids entering private homes and properties used by Hezbollah for military purposes, limiting the effectiveness of the campaign.

Another problem is that their own army is working with Hezbollah:

The official also highlighted concerns about ongoing coordination between some Shi’ite officers within the Lebanese Army and Hezbollah, a situation that Israel says it is monitoring closely.

Israel will continue to help defeat Hezbollah on their own as the LAF struggles to defeat them:

Despite these challenges, Israel stresses that its military will continue targeting Hezbollah’s efforts to rebuild its capabilities. The official told i24NEWS that if the Lebanese Army’s progress is deemed too slow, “the IDF will change the manner in which it strikes Hezbollah.”

The developments underscore continued tension along the Israel-Lebanon border, where Israel keeps a close watch on Hezbollah’s readiness and military activity. Recent months have seen an increase in border incidents and heightened Israeli scrutiny of the group’s movements in southern Lebanon.

Israel Hits Hezbollah

As if we needed proof of the Israeli strategy of weakening Hezbollah, we got it from a report from World Israel News:

Shortly before midnight Monday, IAF jets launched a series of airstrikes across southern Lebanon, striking Hezbollah infrastructure roughly 20 to 30 kilometers north of the Israeli border, including areas north of the Litani River in the Nabatieh region. According to the IDF, the operation was conducted by Northern Command together with the Air Force as part of Israel’s ongoing enforcement strikes.

The IDF targeted a site Hezbollah uses to prepare their terrorists:

The targets included a major training and qualification compound used by Hezbollah’s Radwan Force, the elite unit responsible for preparing attacks on Israeli soldiers and civilians. The IDF said the site served as a hub for weapons instruction, live-fire drills and other combat training designed to support future terror operations. Additional military buildings and a launch site used to advance Hezbollah attack plans were also hit.

It is an ongoing effort to keep Hezbollah from getting back the strength it lost before the ceasefire:

A security official said Israel is continuing its routine enforcement strikes, noting that the military will act wherever necessary to prevent Hezbollah from strengthening its capabilities.

The IDF is also protecting the citizens in the area from attacks from the terrorists from the north. A promise they made them from the start:

Local authorities in the Upper Galilee urged residents to remain calm, stressing that there was no change in the security assessment. “At this time and for several hours, the IDF is striking in southern Lebanon. Explosions may be heard in the Western Galilee, the Eastern Galilee and even the northern Golan. There is no change in the assessment or in instructions for the civilian population. Daily routine continues throughout the region,” the message stated.

I’m not surprised that the threat from Hezbollah is growing again since these terrorists always use ceasefire to rearm and rebuild. And the IDF knows something needs to be done now since waiting only increases the danger:

Tensions along Israel’s northern border have been rising steadily over the last few months. Israeli assessments indicate that Hezbollah has continued to expand its capabilities in Lebanon, rebuilding its ranks and replenishing missiles smuggled from Syria. Within the defense establishment, there is growing concern that the situation could develop into a prolonged campaign if conditions do not change.

The Prime Minister met with a high ranking US official to discuss the path going forward in light of Hezbollah getting stronger, not weaker during the ceasefire:

Amid these developments, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in Israel last week with Morgan Ortagus, President Donald Trump’s envoy for Lebanon affairs, to review the situation along the border. Defense Minister Israel Katz and IDF Intelligence Chief Maj. Gen. Shlomi Binder also participated. The meeting came a year after the Lebanon ceasefire, which many view as increasingly fragile.

Israel’s leadership sees an escalation in military action if nothing changes and the IDS is ready to act:

A security official offered a blunt assessment in comments to The Jerusalem Post: “If there is no dramatic change by the end of the agreement period, another round of fighting in the north is almost inevitable.”

The IDF stated that it will continue to act as necessary to remove threats against Israel.

Hezbollah is in Bible prophecy and one area with their weapons is seen as being judged:

The Word of the Lord came to me saying, 21 “Son of man, look toward Sidon and speak against her. 22 Tell her, ‘The Lord God says, “I am against you, O Sidon, and My greatness will be honored among you. They will know that I am the Lord when I punish Sidon. I will show Myself holy within her. 23 For I will send disease upon her, and blood into her streets. People will be killed by the sword from every side. Then they will know that I am the Lord. 24 No longer will the people of Israel have neighbors like a sharp thistle or thorn who hate them. Then they will know that I am the Lord God. (Ezekiel 28:20-24, NLV)
