Why Did they Miss The Pandemic?

I’ve reported on many prophetic words from Julie Green, Kent Christmas, Hank Kunneman, Dutch Sheets, Troy Black, and the list goes on. I try to put the words out there for you to judge as my intent is to notice trends not determine accuracy per se. That may make some unhappy with me, but I do speak up if a prophetic word is simply unbiblical like the ones setting specific dates for the Rapture. But people have asked me over and over again, if God was really talking to these servants of His, why did no one hear about the world-wide shut down in 2020? The pandemic was a huge event and yet when asked about the year 2020 in late 2019 a group of 20 prophetic voices did not directly predict COVID-19, coronavirus, or a worldwide pandemic. Instead, it used broad language about 2020 being a year of shaking, crisis, turmoil, disruption, purification, unrest, and major transition. Hank Kunneman spoke of “tremendous shakings,” Patricia King called it a “very tumultuous time” and a “time of crisis,” David Herzog compared the coming shift to the way 9/11 changed America, and Dr. Clarice Fluitt said things in 2020 would be “very intense.” Other speakers gave similar warnings, though still not pandemic-specific. Katherine Ruonala spoke of God “shaking everything that can be shaken,” Kevin Zadai said the “world was in turmoil” with public unrest, Ana Werner emphasized purification and repentance in the church, Mario Murillo warned against false security and called 2020 a “life or death” moment, and Tracy Cooke said there would be shaking in the church, leadership, and society. Overall, they noted several broad warnings that 2020 would be challenging, but nothing that clearly names or describes COVID-19 or a worldwide pandemic. Even to me, that seemed odd in hindsight.

Some Did Hear About It

In these days of what seems like prophets on every street corner we can get a little spoiled and shortsighted with words from God. Growing up as Christian such prophecies were not as prevalent as they are now. Most were personal ones, which is fine. The major prophetic voice for me was the late David Wilkerson who published a word God gave called The Vision. The seminal word from God is still being fulfilled even today. But words like this were rare in retrospect. One prophetic voice, Chuck Pierce is on record as hearing about the pandemic as far back as August of 2019 as heard in an article from CBN.com:

Pierce started prophesying last September and then again in January about what the world is going through now. He said, "plague-like" conditions would hit the Earth through February, March, and April. 

God spoke to him in August of 2019 about this coming virus:

Last August, as Chuck was meeting and praying with his team, he says the Spirit of God fell and told him, "This Passover will be a Passover." During his interview on The Prayer Link, Chuck said, "What I saw is that at Passover this year, after this virus, after this plague-like condition was raging, that we would start turning, if we would participate in Passover.

Others Saw The Affects

Pierce was the most specific, but there was another person, Craig Cooney, who saw the effects of the pandemic in a word given to him on December 30th of 2019:

The keyword that I keep getting over and over again for 2020 is "PIVOTAL". The next 12 months will be absolutely pivotal and I believe this will be the most significant year of the last 50 years.
It is a “tipping point" year - a year when everything that has been happening since the year 2000 culminates and climaxes. The next 12 months will also shape the next decade. The last 5-10 years have seen the most significant polarisation and division in nations and between nations that I have witnessed in my lifetime. The pressure has been building and this year it is going to be released. I saw what looked like huge tectonic plates underneath the Earth's surface. They have been pushing together forming pressure and friction. This is going to build up to such an extent that it will be like an earthquake or eruption in 2020. Nationally, leaders will be loss as to how to bring peace and stability in their societies. There will be desperate measures such as curfews and bans, but they will be ineffective and counterproductive....The economy worldwide will take a major sudden dip. But it will not fall into recession like in 2008. It will quickly rally and recover....The United States will find itself on the brink of civil conflict....

Another person, Jamie Rohrbaugh, got some things right, but you can decide if she was talking about the pandemic:

During the first 3 months of 2020 (actually starting in mid-December 2019), you will find that I am anointing you to be at home…

Like Cooney, Rohrbaugh saw tectonic plates:

Your foundations have been rocked over the last three to five years. While you are still standing–for you have been built upon a rock, and the Rock is Me–you have some cracks in your foundation. The cracks in your foundation are stress fractures, brought on by tectonic earthquakes in the atmosphere and daily life around you. Never fear, though. These stress fractures may hurt right now, but I will not allow your foot to be moved. 

The whole word sounds more calm than the chaos we saw, but I wanted to note she mentions God giving His people time to reflect and get to Him in their homes. The strongest word was from Chuck Pierce, especially the “plague-like conditions” / “massive plague-like invasion” wording tied to Passover 2020. The next-best examples are more interpretive: Daily Prophetic for curfews/bans/economic dip and Jamie Rohrbaugh for being “at home.” But one woman had a dream that was extremely specific.

Turning Back To God

A woman pastor, Pastor Kadesha Jenkins got a word back in March 23, 2019 that she actually forgot about but her congregation reminded her about it and she posted it again on her YouTube page on March 16, 2020. She says that a storm was coming although she didn’t see it as pandemic at the time, but here are some parts that are extremely specific:

There’s something viral… there’s gonna be something viral like a sickness or something that’s gonna happen… it’s gonna be like a viral sickness, some type of sickness that’s gonna come over the bodies of the people. It’s gonna be like a viral sickness almost like a deadly flu, almost like a deadly anthrax or something like that. It’s gonna be a deadly virus, like a viral thing, and it’s gonna take people out. You’re gonna start hearing about something viral. Some people are gonna be getting sick and they’re gonna die, and it’s not gonna be an explanation, but all they’re gonna be able to think of is it’s a virus. It’s something viral. Something viral. People caught this virus and it’s taking them out. Viral things are coming. Diseases are coming. Viral diseases are coming. Deaths are gonna be like crazy, gonna be happening back-to-back. People who you wouldn’t even think to guess to die so early and so young are gonna be taken out swiftly.

In an interview with CBN.com from April 1. 2020, Jenkins explains that her dream was a warning for the church anchored to 2 Chronicles 7:14. She gave an impassioned call to the Church for the reason the pandemic was sent and how the church needs to learn their lesson from it. And yes, you need to listen to it all. But we need to look at the verses closer because we may not have learned from the warning given:

… and My people [a]who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Verse 13 should be read as well:

 If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send a plague among My people…

The word for plague is also the word for pandemic. That’s not a coincidence. In many ways I think the Church is right back at the place we were before the pandemic and the warnings given to Jenkins apply again today. Does God need to send another plague to get our attention? I pray not. Yes, we have a president who actually publicly spoke this verse over our country on April 21st of this year. I think that is very significant regardless of the many critics who think anything Trump does is wrong. Jenkins heard this before the pandemic in 2019. Here we are 7 years later and now the call is needed again. God did warn us about the pandemic through prophecy. I think He’s warning us again.
