Darkness Deepens, Glory Rises
We’ve spent the last few weeks standing in the storm. This week, the prophets are looking past it. The headlines aren’t getting quieter - on September 30, a flydubai pilot reportedly stabbed his co-pilot and tried to crash a plane bound for Tel Aviv, and the aircraft made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. Yet voice after voice on the watchlist is saying the same thing from a different angle: the darkness is real, but it isn’t the end of the story.
Darkness and glory, side by side, in the same breath. That’s the thread running through every word we’re about to cover.
A quick note on how we do these updates. We don’t include a word from everyone, and that’s on purpose. I’m not building a scoreboard - I’m looking for the trends God is speaking through His servants. Much like the books of the Bible have threads running through them, I consider God to be orchestrating the threads we see today, to show us not only what He’s doing, but how we need to respond.
Julie Green: Goshen in the Gloom
Julie Green gave the clearest line of the week. In the word she heard on September 21, the Lord tells her that the nations against the United States and Israel are receiving His judgment, and then He turns to His people: “Evil is ramping up, but so will My Glory upon you.” She says that glory will protect believers from the evil one.
On her September 30 broadcast, she pointed to Goshen. When the plagues fell on Egypt, God’s people were set apart (Exodus 8:22). Two things were happening in the same place at the same time. It’s “doom and gloom for the world,” she said, not for God’s people. Her instructions were practical - use the Word daily as a weapon, and put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11).
Her word from September 25, which she shared on October 5, adds a warning. She says the “wolves, snakes, rats, rhinos, and moles” in seats of power have been given the green light to move against “my David,” but every step they take will reveal who they really are. She also says another person in the administration will leave abruptly, and that scandals are coming to political, banking and corporate leaders, and she says this is part of a steady run of words about exposure.
Amanda Grace: Brace, Then Breakthrough
On October 1, Amanda Grace connected the flydubai attempt to the title of her book, Brace for Impact, and said Netanyahu used that same phrase from the floor of the United Nations. She called the window between 9/11 and the midterms one of the most critical hours the nation has faced, and she asked the church to intercede for the president’s travel, including Air Force One. She said the two-year mark of the presidency in January 2027 will need prayer as well.
Then she turned to breakthrough. Her point was that “the promise exists before the evidence does.” When God told Pharaoh to let His people go, Pharaoh made their work harder (Exodus 5:6-9). Amanda says that’s the pattern - the pressure rises right before the deliverance. And she says a storm does what a storm always does: it exposes what a house is built on (Matthew 7:24-27).
Hank Kunneman: Red Alert October
Hank Kunneman’s word from August 16 is titled “Red Alert October.” He says the noise of the enemy will grow louder through the midterms - the lies, the narratives, the threats and the attempts to remove will all increase, with noise in Israel and a push for two states in the ears of the president and his cabinet. His instruction to President Trump was plain: “Do not listen.” Do what they say, and it may determine the redness of November.
In his commentary on the word, Hank ties it to the hurricane season, the midterms and an earlier word about a decade of difference. His point is that it starts dark and harsh, but it doesn’t end there: “You’re going to end up into rest.” He reminded us that the same God who stilled the waters is the One speaking (Mark 4:39). And he practices what he preaches - he says he doesn’t hear the noise because he doesn’t turn it on.
Troy Black: Passing on the Inside
Troy Black shared two words on October 2. In the first, from September 23, he saw a race car with racing stripes and heard the call of a racetrack announcer: “He’s passing on the inside.” The Lord said it’s a perfect maneuver, unprecedented, and some will say he won’t pull it off - then one word: pray.
The second, from September 28, speaks to people angry about short-term decisions. Troy heard that there is “a line being held that matters more,” and that the Lord is seeing to it. He was clear that this isn’t a dismissal of the people affected. It’s an invitation to go into the secret place and ask the Holy Spirit for His perspective, and to turn off the news long enough to hear Him. Troy also asked viewers to test the words and weigh them against Scripture.
Joseph Z: Shaken Before and After
On his September 29 broadcast, Joseph Z said he saw the words “America will shake” while praying that morning. He saw two shakings - one going into the midterms and one after, heading toward January - and said the Lord will not allow the Agenda 2030 rollout to manifest. Even with everything screaming that it’s over, he sees a silver lining and a miracle, and says once more light will shine in darkness. He was emphatic about the tone: “I don’t feel doom or gloom.”
He believes the first shaking could be an action by the president right before the midterms, and that the second will be a wake-up call and a movement. His prayer is that the needle tips to a light shaking, not a dark one. He also heard a phrase for the next two years - finishing what was started. In his October 2 update, he added a line that echoes Julie Green: “Light shining from Goshen right now.” His September 30 broadcast began with the flydubai attempt, which he said has rumblings of what we may see more of around the world - but he said he believes in hope, and he closed with a call to vote and pray.
Perry Stone: A Pattern Worth Watching
Perry Stone laid out a historical pattern on September 30. Grover Cleveland lost an election, came back four years later, and then faced a midterm in which his party went from 218 House seats to 97. Perry noted that Trump also entered with 218, and he walked through the economic parallels - gold, tariffs and interest rates. He didn’t call it a prophecy. He said “time is going to tell,” and he urged us to pray for wisdom for leaders rather than play armchair quarterback (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
Kent Christmas: Glory You Can See
On October 4 at Regeneration Church in Nashville, Kent Christmas said God had begun to download what the church is about to enter. Our source is the Sunday service as posted by Voice of Revival. His distinction is simple: “The presence of God is felt. The glory of God is seen.” He read Isaiah 60 and Habakkuk 2:14, and said the glory isn’t a trickle - it fills nations, even Iran, Cuba and Canada.
The Hebrew word for glory is kabod, and Kent said it means weighty. When the glory filled Solomon’s temple, the priests couldn’t stand (1 Kings 8:10-11). He believes it’s about twenty-four months away, and that the church’s methods will become obsolete when it comes. Demons won’t be able to stay in the room, and healing could come without the laying on of hands. People will tap you on the shoulder in the middle of church with tears running down their faces, prodigals coming home (Isaiah 60:4). And he said America will reap what it sowed - the gospel it sent to the nations.
One Picture, Many Pieces
Put the pieces together and one picture comes into focus. There’s pressure - Amanda’s critical window, Hank’s noise, Joseph Z’s shaking, Julie’s wolves. There’s protection - Julie’s Goshen (echoed by Joseph Z’s light shining from Goshen), Troy’s line being held, Amanda’s thwarted attacks. And there’s glory on the other side - Kent’s weight of glory, Julie’s glory that protects, Amanda’s breakthrough, Hank’s rest at the end of the storm. None of these voices is balancing another. Even the weather lines up - Amanda and Julie both pointed to the nor’easter battering the Northeast as part of the shaking. Each voice is showing a different piece of the same hour (1 Corinthians 13:9).
Test it all - 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21 tells us to hold fast to what is good. And notice what every one of these voices asked of us at the end. Not fear. Not speculation. Prayer, the Word, and a changed life.
Your Part Before the Glory
So here’s your challenge for this week. Pick one time every day - the same time - and give it ten minutes. Put on the armor out loud. Pray by name for the president, for his travel, and for the midterm elections. Then, this week, take the first half hour you normally give to the news and give it to the Word instead.
Then think of one prodigal - one person you haven’t talked to in a long time - and pray for them every day, and reach out to them before Sunday. If Kent is right, the doors of the church are about to fill with people like that. Be the one who’s already praying when they walk in. And vote, and take someone with you.
The darkness will cover the earth, and the Lord will arise over you. Be found shining (Isaiah 60:1).
