The Fire Will Fall!

Not Happy Campers

If the confirmation hearings are any evidence, the deep state isn’t going away with a whimper. And the recent storming of a building where the United States distributes foreign aid was set to be closed for reform, leaders from Congress tried to carry out in insurrection as we see in a report about it from bethesdamagazine.com:

Democratic members of Congress were denied entry Monday to the U.S. Agency for International Development, after billionaire Elon Musk, empowered by President Donald Trump, worked to close the nation’s humanitarian arm.

Senators and House members rallied outside the agency’s shuttered headquarters in Washington, D.C., vowing to fight Musk’s actions over the weekend. That included sending individuals from Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, to forcefully access USAID’s computer systems and files.

The lawmakers decried the actions as unlawful and an unjust:

“We are not going to let this injustice happen. Congress created this agency with the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 and if you want to change it, you got to change that law,” Rep. Gerry Connolly of Virginia told a large crowd that gathered outside the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, where the agency is housed.

They were denied entry as the publicity stunt met its expected end, but it was yet another sign that the deep state isn’t going to go away anytime soon. Even though they lost the national election they are dedicated to throwing as many wrenches into the machine as they can. They are hoping to get the attention of the nation, but all they seem to be doing is riling up their shrinking minority who still controls the lamestream media which is shrinking as well. And we’re only 15 days into the Trump presidency and the hysteria continues to rage.

We Should Have Expected This

It’s not like we didn’t know these tactics weren’t going to be used. We’ve seen plans like these carried out since at least 2016 and those behind them promised they would act like this if they lost the 2024 election, which they did. If you think this is a spontaneous reaction to losing power, you haven’t been paying attention. As I casually watched the confirmation hearings the same badgering attacks on every nominee played out time and time again by every congressperson. They were coached on what points to make and how they would make them. This was not by accident. It was embarrassing for each senator as they punched away at nominees for every cabinet position when the nominees punched back and literally made them look foolish. Rather than just rolling over and even playing nice, Trump’s picks were not willing to cede ground and although they weren’t perfect in their responses, for the most part they more than held their ground. And all of them will be voted on by on the Senate floor and be approved when its all said and done since the numbers are in their favor. I prayed about these events and asked God if there was something deeper going on. He pointed me to another showdown in the Bible.

Elijah Issued A Challenge

God told me that these deep state operatives were following the playbook of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel in the Old Testament. I’m not saying it is an exact blueprint, but the spirit of how it played out is very similar. You have people who think they are still in power when their actual days are numbered. And they are going up against more than people. They are resisting the God these people serve. The fights are much like the challenge issued to the prophets of Baal and Asherah. Elijah told King Ahab to send them 850 in all to meet him on Mount Carmel to deal with that spirit once and for all as we read in 1 Kings 18:20-40:

So Ahab summoned all the people and the prophets to Mount Carmel.

21 Then Elijah talked to them. “How long are you going to waver between two opinions?” he asked the people. “If the Lord is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!”

22 Then Elijah spoke again. “I am the only prophet of the Lord who is left,” he told them, “but Baal has 450 prophets.

It is interesting that Elijah says he’s the last prophet alive when he knew that Obadiah was hiding at least 100 others, but still he went on to lay out the terms:

23 Now bring two young bulls. The prophets of Baal may choose whichever one they wish and cut it into pieces and lay it on the wood of their altar, but without putting any fire under the wood; and I will prepare the other young bull and lay it on the wood on the Lord’s altar, with no fire under it. 24 Then pray to your god, and I will pray to the Lord; and the god who answers by sending fire to light the wood is the true God!” And all the people agreed to this test.

25 Then Elijah turned to the prophets of Baal. “You first,” he said, “for there are many of you; choose one of the bulls and prepare it and call to your god; but don’t put any fire under the wood.”

They did what he said and when they called to Baal, nothing happened and Elijah sarcastically derided them:

26 So they prepared one of the young bulls and placed it on the altar; and they called to Baal all morning, shouting, “O Baal, hear us!” But there was no reply of any kind. Then they began to dance around the altar. 27 About noontime, Elijah began mocking them.

“You’ll have to shout louder than that,” he scoffed, “to catch the attention of your god! Perhaps he is talking to someone, or is out sitting on the toilet, or maybe he is away on a trip, or is asleep and needs to be wakened!”

No matter how hard they yelled, nothing happened:

28 So they shouted louder and, as was their custom, cut themselves with knives and swords until the blood gushed out. 29 They raved all afternoon until the time of the evening sacrifice, but there was no reply, no voice, no answer.

Elijah Had Enough

The prophet of God knew that Baal wasn’t going to answer so he decided to show them whose God was powerful:

30 Then Elijah called to the people, “Come over here.”

And they all crowded around him as he repaired the altar of the Lord that had been torn down. 31 He took twelve stones, one to represent each of the tribes of Israel, 32 and used the stones to rebuild the Lord’s altar. Then he dug a trench about three feet wide] around the altar. 33 He piled wood upon the altar and cut the young bull into pieces and laid the pieces on the wood.

“Fill four barrels with water,” he said, “and pour the water over the carcass and the wood.”

After they had done this he said, 34 “Do it again.” And they did.

“Now, do it once more!” And they did; 35 and the water ran off the altar and filled the trench.

36 At the customary time for offering the evening sacrifice, Elijah walked up to the altar and prayed, “O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, prove today that you are the God of Israel and that I am your servant; prove that I have done all this at your command. 37 O Lord, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you are God and that you have brought them back to yourself.”

And boy did God answer:

38 Then, suddenly, fire flashed down from heaven and burned up the young bull, the wood, the stones, the dust, and even evaporated all the water in the ditch!

39 And when the people saw it, they fell to their faces upon the ground shouting, “Jehovah is God! Jehovah is God!”

And the days of these false prophets came to a quick and fatal end:

40 Then Elijah told them to grab the prophets of Baal. “Don’t let a single one escape,” he commanded.

So they seized them all, and Elijah took them to Kishon Brook and killed them there.

So how does that apply to the last 15 days? I’m glad you asked.

The Deep State Will Dry Up

As I asked God about it I believe He is telling us that those who opposed His appointed leader, there will be famine of power for them a time, but not necessarily three years like in the Bible narrative. The playbook we’re seeing now will only get worse and worse. But all their attempts will keep being frustrated by even though they think they are the ones in charge. And then there will be time when they will open up the big guns left just like the 850 false prophets did on Mount Carmel. If you thought the yelling and screaming is bad now, they will be just like the prophets in this story who, as we read earlier, did this:

28 So they shouted louder and, as was their custom, cut themselves with knives and swords until the blood gushed out. 29 They raved all afternoon until the time of the evening sacrifice, but there was no reply, no voice, no answer.

24 hours of nothing but shouting and cutting themselves until they bleed profusely will happen sooner than later. In the original language this gushing of blood meant shedding of blood in a violent context often indicated judgment or divine retribution. In other words judgment was coming for them. Many prophetic words pointed to something like this and these words have yet to be fulfilled, but those times are coming. I don’t know exactly how it will play out, but these tactics will come to an end. They’ve played this hand one too many times and the people are tired of it. Only those who support their agenda will enjoy it but more and more of them are leaving their camp. Their famine of power is only going to get drier and drier.

Our Part

For us we need to take full advantage of the power vacuum created by their fall from the top of the mountain. God will move the pieces to the endgame of a Mount Carmel at the high end of the proverbial food chain so we need to pray for those involved there. They need our prayers for their protection as they capture the rogue players and take them off the chess board one by one. International players will also be dealt with as their plans are exposed. As this happens we will see unprecedented freedoms to spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth. There will be a golden age of evangelism as nations are humbled. The Trump effect will be used by God to open countries to missionaries that were closed shut the last four years. And the financial freedom to support these outreaches will be astounding. But we must be focused and prepared for this. We can’t squander another four years of His blessings on building our kingdoms and not His kingdom. Find ministries to support and let God use to establish ministries that are needed. In short, work while it is day for the night is coming when no man can work. Fight against the spirit of Antichrist furiously and strongly. Seize the day, Christians. Don’t just sit back and eat popcorn watching the defeat of the prophets of Baal. Be an Elijah calling down the fire!
