Chaos And Distraction

Half Way There

In January of this year I felt like the Lord told me that 2024 would be a year of chaos and distractions. I don’t know about you, but I think we’re seeing just that. Inside and outside the church we’ve had our share of both with a men’s conference hiring a former male stripper to entertain their conference to multiple pastors resigning, one for inappropriate and illegal actions with a minor. And we still have six months to go. We’re also seeing an explosion of what I call TikTok Bible scholars deconstructing the Bible and those who believe it’s the infallible Word of God and galvanizing others who think Christianity is nothing more than the writings of men who essentially borrowed their inspirations from the gods of other religions. Need I also remind us that trusted ministers are leaving behind doctrines they hailed as truth for decades as well as turning on the prophetic community and blaming them for soiling the reputations of real prophets and basically all of Christianity. There are also a lot of Christians now bashing the Rapture and telling us that one of the greatest evangelists of our lifetimes and I think of all time is a member of global government societies and teaching false doctrines to boot producing fake converts. Again, we still have half a year to go. Did forget to also say that we are heading into one of the most volatile American elections season of possible all time? Oh, there will be more chaos to come.

The Election Chaos And Distraction

We’re only one debate in and already one party is scrambling to replace their candidate. After a disastrous showing in the first debate that was the earliest one held the Democratic frontrunner evidenced what many already knew was a case of dementia and to many a case of elder abuse. Right now there are backroom deals being held to see how they can get him to drop out of the race before their convention. There are legal issues with such a plan and even internal disagreements by the family who want their father and husband to stay in the race to the end. But we haven’t even brought up the legal shenanigans against the Republican candidate that have been leveled even while he was still president. Getting a conviction in two trials, one a civil case but the other a federal case is unheard of making him a convicted felon facing jail time and a gag order that keeps him from running his political campaign. There is still an impeachment inquiry against the Democratic candidate percolating as well as a tax case against his son on top of a guilty charge for him in their home state. Felons and potential felons are all over the map making this presidential election season contentious and volatile. And if the wrong person isn’t elected, well all those riots that mysteriously went away in 2021 will be bigger, louder and more destructive this time around.

Another Pandemic Brewing?

The last national election season in 2020 gave us a pandemic that locked down not only America but the world and gave us voting standards that many people saw as election fraud. If one wants a look back at all the ways we “protected” ourselves during that health scare period it was quite the sight. However, just in time another potential virus is flying on our radar called the Bird or Avian flu. As I’ve reported about it, this one isn’t getting all the hype the last one did, but it’s already causing many to bring back out their masks in airports and other public places and threatening to once again lock us down and give pharmaceutical companies another piece of the health pie that garnered them record profits. If we also recall that lockdown divided people, created a lot of conspiracy theories to form that still are going full steam ahead and caused the Body of Christ to be divided over it. Many people had their jobs threatened with many still out of work today. Businesses big and small closed with many never reopening. Some existed for generations and even survived the Great Depression but the pandemic did them in. And there are those who see another pandemic with this Bird Flu. The chaos this time around will also be from those who saw the loss of their freedoms by not fighting the last time, not being so compliant this time around. Could our military be called out to arrest citizens en masse? It hearkens to the saying fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. The resistance won’t go quietly into the good night this time.

The War On Conservatives And Christians

It seems like the current United States administrations is gearing up to put their boots on the necks of anyone that doesn’t like them as the general election gets closer. If you thought it was horrible during the last four years there are indications that the next four months could be a blood bath of epic proportions. I hope I’m only talking metaphorically there, but the contentious environment we currently have could devolve into riots in the streets and cheers for the arrest of anyone willing to protest against a government willing to sick it’s justice agencies on them. When the FBI puts Catholics on the domestic terrorist lists and considers them worse than organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah as they send a large and armed to the teeth SWAT team to arrest them, you know that things are bad. You and I, who are ardently pro-life are also on that list folks and grandmothers who dared protest abortion mills by simply praying are being arrested and charged as we speak. If we think that pastors and evangelists won’t be under close scrutiny as well if they already aren’t being watched we are deluding ourselves. The social media censorship will ramp up as well for those who dare criticize the “right” causes and people and promote and support the “wrong” causes will have their accounts shut down in greater ways than before. Chaos will ensue in this area as well. You may see loud and unruly protests on Sundays for churches willing to also stand for freedom and Biblical stances.

These Are All Distractions

While I’m not making light of these concerns as they do affect all of us at some level or another, they are already keeping our focus completely or even partially off what Jesus commanded us to do when He told His disciples in Matthew 28:18-20:

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (NLT)

Yes, we need to be active in all the other areas of influence like politics, but if we take our eyes off the proverbial ball of being evangelistic we may just fall for the enemies plans to distract us. You know when you’re over the target when you get what my father-in-law calls flack. And Christians who love their country enough to speak up and act will be in the bulls eye of all these attacks or flack. With the help of Holy Spirit we can and will be the restraining force against not just some but all of these antichrist spiritual schemes if only to be a wrench in those plans. And by being salt and light alone, we can make a major difference wherever we go. While we still have the rest of our year to go, we need to pray we have the anointing of the Sons of Issachar in bunches to help us not only to discern what is coming, but to also know how to make an effective strategy to fight it.
