God’s Great Reset
A Global Reset
If one were to use this phrase as a search topic, many things would come up. Chief of these is the actual web site for the World Economic Forum (WEF) which coined the phrase in the midst of the 2020 pandemic. Here’s a quote from that web site which summarizes the initiative from the leader of the WEF, Klaus Schwab:
"The pandemic represents a rare but narrow window of opportunity to reflect, reimagine, and reset our world"
A little over three years out from that infamous quote, the WEF is swiftly working to bring about that reset and it doesn’t appear they have anyone in their way now that the three chief obstacles to it are marginalized or otherwise out of the way. Nothing will stop their global power grab from a human standpoint, however there are two words that say otherwise: But God.
A Little Bible History Is Needed
While one could spend hours reading all about the Great Reset, the Christian can and should direct their energies to the one who has and can actually reset the world, because He’s done it before and, He will do it again. The creator of the universe, not the WEF is in charge of creation and, while He allows people like Schwab to move around in it and think they wield great power and authority, they are but chess pieces on the board of world history. They are literally being played and they don’t realize it. World leaders from the beginning of time have played their part in God’s plans and these self-proclaimed gods merely do their part in the next global reset that the Bible predicted thousands of years before. Hindsight is 20/20 they say and in the Bible we have an example of another time when men got out of hand and God said He was starting over. Shortly after that global reset, mankind quickly planted the seeds of another global takeover that to some is playing out right now.
As It Was In The Days Of Noah
Many of you were already ahead of me on this and if you connected the dots with the Flood and the Tower of Babel as my examples, well step to the front of the line. Yes, God reset things as detailed way back in the book of Genesis and then Jesus told us that the times before His next great reset would be like the times of the first great reset. I’m not getting into all of these details this time around, but it is germane to my point to bring it up. This lesson is all about contrasts from an overall point of view. All we need to know is that God is up to something now and we need to be prepared for it. And we don’t need to know all the intricate details about His plans to be prepared, but that is a topic we’ll get to a little later. For now, let’s focus on the big picture. When the world was destroyed by water, people had a chance to begin again, but it wasn’t too long after Noah and his family came out of the Ark that they started to fall into the same patterns that doomed their ancestors. According to Bible scholars, the infamous tower was constructed only about 100 years after the flood. To other scholars, that same spirit of rebellion is ripe for judgment again.
Original Sin
For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God… (Gen 3:5, AMPC)
All world leaders since Nimrod have fallen to what caused the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden and that was pride or original sin. When the serpent tempted Eve with the prospect of becoming like God by eating the forbidden fruit, the allure of taking on the role of God has led to many, many world leaders downfalls. You can pull their names from the ash heap of history, from the Pharaohs, the Roman Caesars, and names like Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin. They and a whole host of others have come and gone, all thinking they were at the top of world or aspired to be there only to see others topple them and take their places. Time shows us that only God occupies the role of ruler of Earth and He raises up and takes down those who best serve His purpose. All others are just deluding themselves if they think they can fill that role. And history has shown us that even the best military minds always make fatal mistakes that lead to their downfalls. They are blinded by their ambitions and deluded by a false estimation of their abilities to the point that they reject common sense and the advice of their advisors. One need not spend hours and days studying their stories to see the commonalities of their countless collapses to figure it out. In the end, it is simply their pride as clearly noted in this verse:
Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. (Prov 16:18. AMPC)
We’re Better Than God
Getting back to today, we know that those who seem to be pulling the puppet strings of power are falling into the trap of thinking that they can play God. They somehow ignore the volumes of history showing them that such thinking is a foolhardy and fatuous folly. Do they not realize that such high-minded and haughty ambitions only end in disaster? Apparently they think that they are better than God as evidenced by this quote from their “prophet” Yuval Noah Harari:
"The only thing God managed to create was organic beings, trees, giraffes and humans. If we succeed then very soon we will be beyond the God of the Bible."
Gee, he’s all this and humble, too. And yet it is this kind of thinking that led to the downfalls of those before him and the biggest disappointment is that he is Jewish and should know at least the Old Testament. He surely read Genesis 3 and Genesis 11, but for some reason thinks we aren’t going to make the same mistakes that Eve and Nimrod made. While some accuse Harari of being an atheist they miss that he does acknowledge there is a God, but he thinks we are surpassing Him which is actually the height of hubris and explains why he and his acolytes are doomed to repeat the same errors of all those before him. We can only pray that he sees the light before he sheds his mortal coil.
But God
Those two words are the most powerful ones in the English or any other language. They encapsulate all that we need to know about the Great Reset or any reset for that matter. And they are the source of our hope as we do our part to push back and restrain the powers that be in their push to make us conform to their image and likeness. And it begs the question, how can we push back when we have no apparent power to change things? In ourselves we can do nothing, but in Christ we can do all things. As George Mueller said, if God is your partner you better think big. And He partners with us to accomplish His will which is that no one perishes without knowing Him. That is our Great Commission and all other ambitions or plans flow from that. And, as we read in Matt 24:14, it is the last thing we can do before His second coming:
And this good news of the kingdom (the Gospel) will be preached throughout the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then will come the end. (AMPC)
The Last Sign
This preaching of the Gospel is listed as one of the signs of His Second Coming and one can make the argument that it is the last sign as we are told that once that is done, He returns. I won’t go into all the Greek meanings of the words but suffice it to say I am on solid ground when I tell you that when He sees that everyone has had the opportunity to hear the Gospel in all its fullness, He will come back to rule and reign. How will he know when that moment occurs? Jesus knows the hearts of men and He alone can see when all have heard the Gospel. To be clear, the people who perish are those who took the mark of the beast as detailed in Rev 13:16 and there will be those who haven’t and yet have heard the Good News. These are the people who will populate the Millennium for a thousand years, but that is going beyond my current point which is our job is to preach now as much and as often as we can. Combine Matthew 24:14 with Matthew 28:18-20 which says this:
He told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and earth. 19 Therefore go and make disciples in all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and then teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you; and be sure of this—that I am with you always, even to the end of the world.” (TLB)
And there you have the end-times playbook for all Christians right now. Let us play our part in God’s Great Reset by giving everyone we influence the opportunity to reset their hearts and minds by becoming believers as well.
